I see 9-7 as the MOST LIKELY possibility. Since that means missing the playoffs (and I could care less about squeaking in since we would go nowhere but one-and-done anyway), I really would prefer to see an 8-8 finish for the longer term benefits. I'd rather have the higher draft position and a 1-7 collapse/playoff-miss to assure that shit actually gets done this offseason in dramatic fashion.
Like sweeping, modernizing changes to HC/OC positions.
Like an intense focus on rebuilding the OL.
Like cutting away dead weight players such as Davis & Hester for some new blood.
Like getting serious about producing an NFL quality offense.
The last thing I want to see is this team finish 10-6, make a meaningless wildcard appearance, and then that being used as a justification for "window dressing" changes only. That would be a typical stodgy Bears franchise response. You know, duct taping over a leak rather than replacing the plumbing. No thanks.
