Totally agree that the offensive production (take that phrase any way you want to...) is too low. So, we have a pretty good WR group now. We also think we have a good QB and possibly the best RB tandem in the league.
Even with a crap OL (and yes, we have a seriously crappy OL), we should be better than that. This is not so easy to solve, but I think it goes much deeper than just the OL.

Green Bay -- 16 (on the road against one of the best passing offenses in the NFL)
Houston -- 13 (despite multiple TOs by our O like above)
Seattle -- 17 (only 10 until the late 4th)
Minny -- 7 (14 pts scored by them on pick 6s)
Now let's see what the OFFENSE scored:
Green Bay -- 13 (multiple TOs, sacks allowed, dropped passes)
Houston -- 6 (yes, that's right, not even a single TD at home)
Seattle -- 17 (3 of which occurred in the last 30 seconds thanks a miracle bomb)
Minny -- 14 (7 of which occurred in garbage time after the game was over, ton of drops again)
...and in the SF game, it wasn't a purely defensive loss like 34-31 or something. We scored 7 total points and that TD occurred completely in garbage too after the game was long out of reach.
Its really tough to beat good teams, and some mediocre ones too, when 2 touchdowns is your maximal offensive output. Offense, and the utter lack thereof, is by far the bigger problem here. To deny that and not upgrade it as the higher priority (and that is the Bears usual course) this spring pretty much ensures another 8-8 at best season next year.

Ho hum. If Lovie keeps his job as HC for one more year it will be because in his mind and because of the lack of better candidates there is little choice. If he gets an extension then everybody should get fired.
It's time to make a change. Lovie is still little better than a .500 HC whose been surviving off one SB appearance and a .500 record give or take ever since. During his entire tenure we've never had a good offense and most of that is because he doesn't know offensive football or how to hire guys who do and can convert that knowledge into building a respectable offense.
It all starts at the top and at the coaching level Lovie is at the top. In the final analysis he's the last man in the daisy chain both during the week and in Sunday so he's ultimately responsible for everything on the team. Phil Emery is over him on the front office and hopefully he'll have the stones to seek a change.
Any expected improvement depends on more than just adding a few players. First you have to have a guy who knows what to do with them. Rod Marinelli proved that he does by virtue of how well his lineman have done this year. Tice has proven exactly the opposite. He's been given ridiculous amounts of talent at some of the offensive skill positions yet still runs the lowest ranked offense in the NFL.
Sorry but Tice has to go and so does his boss. It's time for a change.

Of course it does. In addition to OL upgrades, we need:
1) a change in the coaching staff at HC & OC. Lovie and Tice need to go for obvious reasons.
2) a receiving TE that is at least competent and capable
3) a true #4 (speedy, slot) WR to replace Randall-Cobb-he-is-NOT Hester on the depth chart
We then would have an offense that can score more than 10 points a game without the defense having to do it for them.

I couldn't agree more, Soul. Yesterday utterly inept performance (coaching AND offense which are inter-related here of course) finally convinced me once and for all that Lovie and Tice are simply a bad investment that you have to admit failure on and just take your losses.
Despite the OL woes, and some of that can be laid at the coaches' feet too, there is absolutely no excuse for an offense with Cutler, Marshall, Bennett, Jeffery, Bush, and Forte to be this limp-dick.
Player changes/upgrades are needed as well but a new HC & OC are equally vital. It's time to move on.

Lovie's priority is to protect A : himself B : his crony asst coaches - that's why he gave Tice the OC job in the first place ( which he was totally unqualified and unprepared for. Does a NASCAR driver get promoted to the Sprint Cup Series when he hasn't proven he can win at the lower level first ? ) . Also THEY are the ones who convinced Emery they'd be OK with this joke of an O-line . They shoveled a bunch of $h!t to promote their agenda : themselves . It is now blowing up on them and they're finally feeling some genuine heat . Good . They deserve it . And even if they manage to back into the playoffs they should still be gone . Cuz if Emery isn't smart enough to see the BS that's being shoveled around here , then he's dumber than I thought . It isn't hard to see .

I think the bad thing is ownership will let Lovie run the complete season course-which is aground. Won't see them hitting the bricks early this season which would be a good time to audition others at this point.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

It's time for a change. We won't win a SB with Lovie. Need to go a different direction
