Lets be realistic here. As it looks now, there's no way we are going to get Te'o. He will very likely be a top 10 pick (like Kuechley last year) and the cost to move up that far will be prohibitive. Even trading away a 3rd wouldnt get us high enough and we dont even have a 3rd this year as of now. Not gonna happen. If Urlacher retires or otherwise can't play due to injury, it's probably gonna be Roach at MLB next year with DeCicco backing him up.

And we really need TWO NEW STARTERS on the OL. Ideally IMO a LT (Long if possible) out of FA and an interior OL (LG/OC) high in the draft. Might be able to get the latter in the late 2nd but a highly touted prospect like Barrett Jones will likely require using the 1st round pick. Leaves the 2nd for a SLB hopefully. That's how I see it at this very preliminary stage, assuming we will be picking in the bottom 10 of each round.

They shouldn't have ever traded away one of the best WRs in the game for 2 3rds either but...they DID.

Denver shouldn't have either. Considering his past mistakes with the law, I can not fully blame them (especially since right before the trade he had another incident). Had they known he would be actually doing what he said he would do for the first time in years, they likely don't. Marshall was a gamble, and it paid off for us. Had he continued in his hooligan ways, they win the trade.

Assuming Jake Long comes up ... whats he worth ? Are we talking first round pick ? And what would we get in the draft with that first round pick ? JCUT has had this team on his shoulders since he got here. We gave up alot to get him. If Jake Long costs less ,isnt it worth a look ?

Long would not cost us a pick... unless he is tagged. He is a free agent at years end

He is scheduled to become a FA unless Miami re-signs or tags him. Rumor I've read (grain of salt here) is that they may let him walk due to durability concerns and probably won't tag him since the FT cost is very high ($12+ million). He recently got IR'd for a triceps injury.

Benj, after yesterday's pathetic performance on O (yet again, broken record) and the fact the D basically gave up only 7 points all game (coming on the opening drive), do you still think the defense is a bigger problem than the offense????

I read its gonna cost Miami $15.4mil to tag Long... they might just let him roll on out the door. I think they'd be crazy not to resign him, so lets hope they are crazy.

Ryan Clady will be a FA in 2013, yes? or did Denver extend him? Footballfuture still lists him and Albert (KC) as LT free agents for 2013. I'd be more than happy with any of those 3. I am glad to see there are actually several FA options that the Bears could at least make offers to.

I read that too, FWIW. Long has had some injury concerns so that would need to be vetted as well as Marshall's nightclub incident was. I believe Clady, Albert, and Bushrod are all FAs too. Hopefully one of these 4 can be our LT for next year so the Webb follies can end.
