I learned the same thing. Oh, wait...I had learned that already earlier in the year.
I learned that I definitely want a new HC and new OC after 2 consecutive late- season meltdowns.

I keep hearing that AZ is a gimmie game; and I think people assume Det is also; w/how this team is functioning, I'm not so certain anymore.
The OL hasn't had a huge drop in production, and are missing it's best linemen, and suffered other inj's; that's how bad the starters are. Need to move on from garza, he's finished, need to bring in at least one OT, and probably 2; and then a C and G; just to create competition and depth. And I'm not sure how we're doing on cap money, Clady(if he's doesn't resign)/Jake Long might be to expensive for the Bears to be able to sign.
Congrats to anyone that could rewatch that game.
Did anyone else notice how slow Forte looked on his spin move on one of his big gains? Could he be playing hurt like he did his 2nd year w/the Bears? Normally when you see a guy do a spin it's a quick snap like motion; he looked like he was doing a slow spin on a dancefloor. It was almost awkward.
Ric I'd say the AZ game is even money right now.
I agree on Forte, Ric. He just hasn't looked himself pretty much all year. Not quick on his cuts like last year. And he's been largely cut out of the passing game by stupid Tice. I don't see Forte as the kind of player who would loaf it after signing his guaranteed deal, so I have to believe his decline this year is a combo of bad play calling, horrible run blocking, and nagging injuries. I think he has had 2 ankle strains this year so he's probably never been able to be fully 100%. The run game overall has been a huge disappointment to me. I thought with Forte and Bush we would be stomping all over teams for 150-200 yards a game. Hasn't even been close to the dominance I was expecting.
i don't know the exact cap space figure we have left. Several million at least with carryover. I figure with Spencer is gone, Campbell will be replaced for cheaper, Spaeth maybe gone, Urlacher is not going to get a big contract anymore, Louis' deal will be less post-ACL, and the above-mentioned Davis/Hester savings achievable, we can likely scrape together enough cap to make one major FA buy. We really do have to buy an LT, however we can get there.
I was in the camp that we would only lose two games, with one of those done. I thought we would beat Detroit. We still might. But I am not as sure any more. Against Arizona -- I just can't see losing that game. If we did and they kept Lovie, I think I'd swear off of football for a little while.
The team never let them run for 150-200 yards a game; I figured it'd be more along the lines of all purpose yards though, not just run. Ya I don't see him as loafing b/c of a fat contract either, that was never his MO.
Ya cap for next year I guess will largely have to be figured on how they handle the team after the season.
I agree with both of you. Forte definitely hasn't been himself this season.
Anyone else getting tired of the 20-30 yard passes on 3rd and short? Four separate times they pulled that and ended up with nothing. I can understand airing it out, but do it on 1st or 2nd down, not 3rd.
Davis and Hester need to go. Hester is clearly not a WR, and he's not really a return man either. I don't remember the last time I saw the "real" Devin Hester. Davis needs to stop getting targeted, because it's just a waste of a play.
I noticed that too all year. After week 1 anyway when he pounded in 2 TDs vs. Indy.
Has he been dinged up? Cuz Forte sure has and Bush has been incognito most of the year, even when Forte has been ineffective. 1 rush yesterday. You gotta figure if we had been pummeling Bush up the middle more vs. Houston (rather than waiting till nearly the 4th Q), that outcome might have been different.
