What we learned
What a sad game, what a pathetic game. I didn't watch the 4th qtr, what was the point? I've turned off more games in the last 4 weeks then I have the last 4 years and that is really depressing.
Chicago O: Drops drops and more drops; didn't run enough, the team as a hole was averaging 6 yards per carry...6 yards; 2 of those and it's a first down + 2 yards; why did you only run 18 times? we were never really out of that game there was no reason NOT to run more; 50 passes equated to a handfull of sacks, and a couple dozen huries/hits on the qb...and our QB is now hurt AGAIN. How's that 50 passes treating ya? While we are on the passing, why are we throwing to Davis? He's not a good reciever, he's flat bad; all the heat, all the hate, that Hester gets, Davis should get 10x's that. We targetted Davis and Hester far to much today, and somehow Dane S cannot even be active w/the problems we have? sigh, what a waste. JC throwing pick 6's takes me back to his first year here, he's also sailing balls on wr's that are all 6'5" or so, how high do you have to throw a ball to where guys that tall stand no chance of getting them; and he shorted Hester on an easy pass. Maybe Hester doesn't catch it, he dropped an easy one in the 4th, but the one shorted was the ones I would bet he catches 9 out of 10 times b/c he was facing Cutler sqaure when it was thrown. It was just a garbage game all around for this squad.
Chicago D: this is the side of the ball that convinces me this team has finally given up on Lovie and Co. Did they even try and stop the only threat on the field? Minny is real simple to defend against, shut down AP and make Ponder beat you. I know AP is a HoF RB, and he's having an awesome 2nd half of the season, but come on, 100 yards in the 1st qtr? Sadly when it's all said and done, they weren't the reason we lost, even w/letting AP have a career day, but again, no turn overs for this squad, no points from this squad and this team is not good enough to win, and that's pathetic.
Chicago coaches: hey this was only a must have, how could you have your team so unprepared? How could your gameplan get thrown out the window so early? I really do believe this team has quit on the coaches, I cannot fathom why else this team has played so flat the last 2 weeks.
Minny O: A completely one sided team; but man how great is that one side? AP, how I hate him, but love watching him play, what a stud.
Minny D: They had a gameplan, and executed it...w/the help of some easy drops by Bears WR's.
Minny coaches: well you were handed one by a Bears team that doesn't want to play anymore, congrats. Your plan was as unimpressive as the Bears, but you at least had your team ready and pumped up.

I would add that part of the failure equation is a lack of talent on offense. No run blocking. Forte is forced to make something out of nothing all game long. And the drops are killing us. Drive after drive sputters and dies because we have receivers and TE's who simply have "hands of stone" out there.
Our defense held the Vikes to 7 points (the offense gave up 14 with the pick-six and another interception that was brought back to the Bears' 5 yard line).
If an offense can't score more than 14 points (and it gives away 14 points) it's a killer.

IMO, its time to panic. Thats what we learned.
2 years of major meltdowns. Terrible.
*Also, Tice sucks. Why did he get promoted?

your right JABF, let me add a few facts that i've heard on the score/radio/reading. The wr's as a whole did no favors to Cutler. I give Marshal a pass b/c he's getting the ball thrown his way 20 times, but still he was 10 of 19, that's a lot of misses, Hester was the next best at 5 of 8, then Jeffery at 3 of 6; but w/a caveat of Forte catching 6 of 7; if someone is going to get targetted 8+ times besides Jeffery it should be Forte.
Lovie in his time hear is 15 and 16(or something like that) in the 4th qtr of the season since he's been in Chicago. Lovie has a garbage record against teams w/winning records, and I bet it's even worse against "elite" coaches. The Bears when Cutler throws over 40 times does not have a good record, yet we threw the ball 50 times. The Bears when Forte has 30+ touches has a pretty good record, and yet we only let him touch it 25 times a game, at most.
Ken, he was promoted b/c it was thought he would make the pass/run ratio more balanced, but he hasn't. I'm not sure if that's b/c of Bates having a say in the O calling, or b/c cutler audibles out of it, or b/c he sucks or a mix of all of it. But I doubt he's in the same ratio he had in Minny w/Culp/Moss/no name rb.

And this is one of the main reasons that I am unsure about Bates.

Since Carimi was removed and Scott was given the right tackle position (and in addition to this Louis being injured), the right side of the line no longer has any push for run blocking. We went from average run blocking and worst pass blocking to worst run and pass blocking. At least earlier in the season we could move the ball a little bit when running, but now we can't run so we have to pass in hopes that Cutler can scramble long enough to get the ball out of his hands.

Constantly starting Davis at TE is completely embarrassing to the team, the fans, and to the organization. You might as well have linemen run routes. Tice could be judged incompetent on this and this alone and it would be enough to can him.
This team will be LUCKY to be 9-7
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I only sat still to watch the first two drives of the game, but saw all i needed to. This game makes it easier to cut any player, fire any coach the GM wants to. Now, if we go on a 3 game winning streak to end the season, all's well that ends well, but i don't think anyone believes that is realistic.

I learned that I don't want to see Hester and Davis in a Bears uniform next season.
I've had enough. They both SUCK and are way overpaid. Release them and move on!

Rewatched the game in condensed version on NFL.
Our Offensive line is worse than I thought. That was the only thing I watched and they are truly bad.
I feel like our O-line should run block every down. That way to Defense only gets 2 yards into the backfield
