I think we can get much more out of Shea whether Lovie stays or he doesn't. He may not be the dynamic player we all hoped for, but I think he still has a bunch of upside. At least I hope so.
Your probably right. I just see this guy stuck as a tweener thats not quite ready for DE and not quite ready for LB. This pick will take a lot longer to develop which has lessened the impact Ric and I have talked about. I'm just tired of seeing the multi-year development plans ala Webb, Manning, etc. esp. as a #1.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Yea I'm with you, i know hindsight is 20/20 but myself as well as people on here were screaming it since April and have been proven right...there were about 10 better picks out there that are proving it this year
Still hold firm that emery was looking towards a potential lovie less 3-4 future with plan b being hope and pray he turns out halfway decent with a few years in the weight room

you just can judge players only during their rookie season and label them as busts. We don't even know the position Shea will play in next year.
And it was known since we drafted him that he would get 50% of the snaps at best. I for one said this from the beginning. Izzy was signed to be a solid DE and he is. With Izzy on the Roster we all knew that this would happen. If you hyped about that shiny new DE it's not my problem. If Shea is the same next year by that time, I will give him the bust label for sure

I haven't given up hope for him but I see nothing encouraging whatsoever
Biggest problem is he has no ability to defeat a block whatsoever, his only hope is to add some SERIOUS size and power but will that effect the speed game he plays?
Dosent belong whatsoever in a 4-3 scheme it's incredible that anyone bought into that
His best realistic hope to be successful is lovie getting canned and a 3-4 coach being hired
I still think that may have been the long term perspective behind emerys decision

German, few to none have said he's a bust, I/they said he was a reach and a poor choise at DE compared to others. And so far that is an accurate statement.

Y'all should be a lot more worried about our fucked up offense than you are about a rookie DE whose made some nice plays this year.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Well considering we spent a first rounder on someone who is a situational de instead of oline I think people are right to worry about what he brings to the table. Fact is the draft pick used on him would have made us a better team choosing an every down de or for oline help then anything Shea has brought to the table
