Obviously a pretty bold statement made by the ravens today and I think our offense has sputtered more than there's! So here is my question if gb kills us in chi town with zero offensive output would you fire tice and see if bates has anything for us in the last two games?
I know I know we would still be fighting for a playof spot... But could it get any worse with bates?

Toub at OC is an idea I could live with. Though he is another unknown in that capacity. But, seeing how well he has done at the ST gig, I would love to see what plays he could imagine up.
I don't know man... Toub... talk about a risky move. BTW, anyone notice how much our ST sucks compared to a couple years ago? What has really changed? And they keep giving Toub guys to work with... Hell, most of the damn team is just special teams guys... some of our starters even.
Bates makes sense. He and Cutler are on the same page. Teams were looking at Bates a few years ago for OC spots.
I like Toub, he did great things for the team a couple years ago... enough to get a raise and stick around for a while longer... But what has he done for the Bears lately?
Soul talked about this in another thread somewhere. The idea of, if (ahem when) we lose to Green Bay next week, canning Lovie and Tice and replacing them with Toub and Bates respectively as interim coaches to see what they have for 2 games. Or something along those lines, even if it was just one firing. Doubt they would do it, but it would make sense to get a real game view of what they could offer.

The rule changes, elimination of the wedge, the change to the kickoff rule and Hester...... not being what he was.

He got fired from the Seahawks...... the seahawks. Doesn't mean he is bad, but come on.

Valid point. The greatest ST play in football history (which got called back thanks to a damn unnecessary flag
I don't think either one would be a bad choice though

They're on the same page, but so far, they haven't convinced me it's the right page.

Yeah, that's my issue with him too. I'm kind of experimented out. That's why I would like to see what he has, but honestly, I would rather go elsewhere. I'm thinking HC pedigree. And a successful one.
So here is a strategic thought from lovie... Keep tice and they go 9 and 7. Lovie and all staff gets fired. Now option two, fire tice after gb then have bates come in. If he sucks and they lose two games lovie gets fired anyway but here is the upside for lovie... They KICK ASS. Lovie then blames everything on tice and saves his job.
