Well you can't PUSH them, you say you can't yell at them, so I guess all thats left is you just get rid of them right away. No need to BOTHER with someone, out with the old, NEXT. As to YELLING ( pun LOL ) I do agree you don't start with it, but you just might end up with it. before you cut them loose. It's a telling sign to both whats to come. A guy who performs , for the most part , well/ great / what you want, and has a mistake/ bad day. You pull them aside, tell them whats up. A guy who does nothing but have bad days, you get to the point of LETTING THEM KNOW !! How do you push a person WITHOUT any bad words/ feelings / saying/ being unkind without saying they F'd up over and over. Kind words didn't get one's attention so... NEXT STEP.

Would have hoped that this thread is about Gould and Gould related news only. We worked out Neil Rackers, Billy Cundif and the guy we signed in the end - Orlindo Mare

I believe he's a viable candidate and should be considered.
when you fire your HC, you never go with a guy out of his staff. If Smith retires from football, I might start to think about it. When you fire a HC, you don't name his OC, DC or ST C the next HC.

Yes, you let them know they are having a bad day. But you can do that without raising your voice. Perhaps that is where we are having a disconnect. You point out where they went wrong and how to fix it. But having a redfaced jackass screaming at you does not motivate anyone.

Haha, I don't know what world you live in, but it obviously isn't the real one. Lighting a fire under someone's ass usually does motivate them.

Back to the original topic of this thread, Robbie Gould. Guess I would be more concerned about this if I thought it was going to be a major issue going forward. I don't think it is or will be. Robbie has missed a few kicks this year and this offense can't seem to move into field-goal range on a regular basis anyways. Love what he's done for the team in the past, but having a back-up kicker for the rest of the season is the least of our worries right now.

I have to say German, that I don't have alot of confidence in Mare. I was at the Car/Minn game late last year in Charlotte & he missed an easy FG that would have sent the game into overtime. He also missed 2 FGs against us a few years back. We'll see how it goes.

As far as kickers go here would be a good opportunity to give a young guy a shot. Hell, I'd be ok with a arena league guy instead of Mare. Why pick up kickers with shattered or dubious confidence? Grab a noob with something to prove.

If by some miracle making the playoffs or advancing in the playoffs comes down to making a FG, I sure hope he makes it. Gould is as good as any kicker in the league. He's had what some would consider an off year. He's only made 21 0f 25 FGs this year & 2 of those were blocked. Pretty amazing.

Olindo Mare has no chance at long distance kicks and about a 75% chance at short ones. Thank god we signed him, cause we can't crack the opposing teams 35 without help from the refs.

I'd have gone relative unknown....after all, we signed Gould after week 5 of the 2005 season as an undrafted player to replace Doug Brien (another retread kicker with a history in the league of mediocre results - ala Mare).
