Bears re-sign DT Okoye

Amobi Okoye is back for his third tour with the Chicago Bears.
The club announced Wednesday that the defensive tackle has been signed to fill out the 53-man roster after a series of moves were made Tuesday. He takes the place of guard/center Andre Gurode, who was waived.
Okoye and Gurode traded places last month as the team released the defensive tackle to add the offensive lineman on Nov. 27. With Gurode out, it signals veteran guard Chris Spencer is ready to play after missing the previous two games with a knee injury.
Okoye returns after defensive tackle Stephen Paea was held out of Sunday’s loss at Minnesota with a foot injury. Whether Okoye’s return is related to Paea’s health is unknown.
Okoye has played in six games for the Bears this season, making three tackles and one sack. He spent all last season with the team.

I hope they keep him awhile. Think his knee has hobbled him this season, healthy he's great depth.

No doubt in a month or two when we need to fill the OL again he will again be waived. Deck chairs in deed.

Jeez. This is like the guy that has a collection of 20 dolls but only has room to display 15. He keeps moving them in and out of the display. He doesn't realize that there are actually more dolls made and available than the 20 he has. I'm really wondering why we cut these guys if they were so good, and furthermore, if they were people that we had to cut but were really good, why when they went to another team, did that other team also cut them. And after two quick cuts, why are they still the best option out there?
Maybe it's just me, but I just shake my head at this stuff. And I hope none of you guys have doll collections!
Edit: I did want to add that Okoye is worth keeping, but the moves baffle me. I am easily baffled.

I think it has to do with Paea's (sp?) injury.

I'm sure glad that Tice reassured us about the oline being solid this year. That, and the "Hester Package" are just what this 2012 offense needed.

just roster management that every team does. Minor move, not worth talking about. Good to know but thats it
