It's not just the players though. That's only half of the equation. Put a couple pf these guys on another team and they may surprise you. Even Tom Thayer said before the season started that there is some talent on that line.
I look at the blocking scheme itself as well and how poorly it's suited to the type of back Forte is and his running style. Bush would actually be more consistently effective behind Tice blocking scheme but of course Bush is about as seldom used as a ball carrier as Forte is a a pass receiver.
When you watch the Bears block you see missed assignments on almost every play. But in some cases I'm not sure it's the player whose at fault. Defenders are coming through the line unblocked. When you see that happening as often as it has it can't just be a guy missing his block. No one is even assigned to that guy.
It's part that players I agree, and we need an infusion of talent but no matter who you bring in if the blocking schemes are as poorly devised as some of Tice's seem to be I think we'll still be having these same discussions a year from now.
Yeah we need some better talent both on the field and on the practice field and preparing game plans and blocking schemes. Tice has failed pure and simple. Time to move on. It's easier to replace a few coaches that 8 linemen.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
