Ric I'm not gonna debate this with you any longer. First of all you know nothing about what Bates accomplished here in Denver with Cutler and Marshall as the cornerstones of his passing attack other than what you've read someone else write. Once again you refer to a "rumor" from Hub Arkush who we all know is the King of Rumors and has no more inside info on the Bears than you or I yet he pretends otherwise. To most Bears fans he's a well known joke.
The only larger part I see is that Tice has finally called for some passes to the TEs and even though Spaeth made a nice TD grab a while back Kellen Davis continues to be a major fuck up so it hasn't done much good. And a larger part still doesn't mean it's the type of passing game Bates has run before or that the WRs being played are getting the job done and it won't until they stop playing Hester and Bennett can keep from losing half the season to injury every year.
You weren't here, you never watched even one game or ever saw them in person as I did. Jeremy Bates was the guy on the sidelines with the headset on, holding the play card and calling the plays into Cutler. Before Bates and "Shanny" put that passing combo together it didn't exist and Bates brought it back to life this year in Chicago. Marshall is having the best year of his career and if anyone else could play even half as well as he does or stay healthy maybe Cutler would be having a better year too. He can't throw the damn ball and catch it too.
And finally you persist in misquoting what I post and twist it to fit what you want to think not what I wrote. Here's exactly what I mean;
" The idea that he's had nothing to do w/this Offense is laughable."
I never posted this or even implied it. What I have said is that this is not Bates offense, it's Mike Tice and Lovie Smith's offense. I can easily see what Bates has contributed even if you can't. I even posted direct examples above so that you couldn't deny it but you seem to want to anyway because that's what fits your preconceived notions but not the facts.
Bates used TEs as pass receivers to exploit double coverage coverage on Marshall when teams played one deep at Safety. Tice does not. Bates nearly made an OROY out of Eddie Royal by using him to attack under and across soft zone coverage and the kid caught 91 passes his rookie year. Those shorter quicker throws kept Cutler from landing on his ass so much in 2008. Tice and Lovie continue to try to attack down field or with bubble screens to Hester which he seldom executes well or he can't get open, or he runs the wrong route or he drops passes that are well thrown yet they continue to start him over others.
If Bates was truly running that passing game his way Kellen Davis would be on the bench, Hester would only be returning kicks/punts and be a 4th or 5th option instead of starter and Sanz probably wouldn't have been inactive all year long since he would have been a great candidate to play the role Eddie Royal did in Denver and if not him than Weems may have gotten a shot. I won't comment of Bennett or Jeffery because both has missed significant amounts of time with injuries but I will say that there would have been no imaginary "Hester Package" and there is no way Hester would have been in front of Bennett on the depth chart. Those are all changes Bates would have made that Tice has not so it's still being run 70% to 80% Tice's way.
These are the things that I've posted. Not what you keep insisting that I have or implied. If you're gonna challenge me than either take the time to read and UNDERSTAND what I said and stop misquoting me or STFU about it!

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

True. What we do know is that it isn't working so we blame:
1. The guy in charge - Lovie
2. If it isn't Lovie , then IT STILL ISN"T WORKING. Fire the guy who's fault it is. Since the guy not firing him is the guy in charge, see #1

They all basically said the same thing... fans dont know jack, and can't lay the blame on anyone person. It is the players that play and win or lose games, you don't know the play that is called so you have no idea who Fd up or if it was a bad call.

But, according to Cutler, you don't who is to blame, so you can not call for anyone's head.

I just haven't had the time to do it.
Omg, Shark, you gotta make that. I'm LMFAO just picturing it.

That was my point. So I don't know who's fault it is. But I DO KNOW it's broken. And I do know who's job it is to make it not broken. So unless they want to tell us who's fault it is, I blame the guy responsible for not being able to fix it.

^^^This^^^ Either it was a poor play call , or it was poorly executed by a player. Either way it's the HC's job, w/his assistants to make sure it's corrected. And so far it's not been.
in one if his first espn radio shows he said the same thing. Waddle was the one that was asking the question too, he told him even former players don't know what we are doing so they don't know.
