Cutler does seem to have regressed from how he was playing prior to getting hurt last year. Either he doesn't trust what they are doing on offense or those hits and/or injuries have taken more of a toll on him than meets the eye. Whatever the case, he does need to get better.

I think it just comes down to the lack of Depth again. Bennett is a fine slot WR, Jeffery needs to learn the play game, and what can we say about Marshall.
Cutler did a good job this year, we all know he's going to make some throws that shouldn't be made, he'll hit some and some will get picked. We've had 4 years to learn that finding a Rodgers, Brady, Manning to replace him isn't going to happen, there aren't many better QB's out there. 2nd tier, no doubt.
Forte is Forte, between him, Marshall, Jeffery, Bush and Bennett our offense has the weapons to become a top 10 offense given some time to work together.
Protecting Jay enough to allow him to get to those guys the ball is the issue. I honestly don't think Webb was an issue this year, I thought he was able to hold his own against the elite guys and well against the others. We can't have a revolving door next to him at LG and we need a RT since Carimi's knee isn't what it used to be. Hopefully Louis can come back and be that rock at RG again. We got killed up the middle this year.
Our Defense needs more youth and speed. Briggs, Lach, Peppers, Tillman are all getting up in age. Conte, Wright, Paea, Wootten are all players that seem to have solidified as players that can be part of the solution. We could use someone to match up with those TE's, though now that I think about it, Hardin could possibly be that guy, and more depth at CB and LB.

Nothing new here. You're not going to win many games in this league scoring 13 points.
We scored 14 last week, 17 the week before, 7 points against the 49ers - and 6 points against the Texans. All losses. The season was over before it began. We have no offensive line and a crap OC. End of story.

Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

Cobb was drafted as a WR and played WR in college, He's had the same offensive system in both years he's been in the league?

MP, see stonehouse.
There is a reason Hester was said to have no position. He's also had to learn RT's O, Martz's O, and now Tice's/Bates's O. This is not the guy known for his smarts. I would never expect Hester to be like Cobb. I'd expect him to be able to make 2-3 plays a games out of 4-5 targets, and that's on a good day. And probably break one big play 1 or 2 times every 2 to 3 games.

I like Cutler, he's a franchise guy, and I believe he can get you to the SB, but I'm begginging to wonder if he'll always struggle against elite teams b/c of his penchent for turning the ball over. It was an issue in Denver too, not just here, and he had a great OL and solid WR's, and one of hte best offensive minds in the game in Shanny. The guy is just a pick machine at times and it's always going to cost the Bears a few games. Even when he's not throwing picks, like last week, he was still throwing the ball high or into the ground. It's not just the OL or the WR's, it's not just the OC, Cutler HAS to get better and be better.
This offseason this team gave Cutler everything he wanted, His boy Marshal, his passing O in Bates, and even another big WR in Jeffery, and he still struggled.
BTW, F off for Urlacher and Conte for bitching about the fans not being 100% behind them or booing them. YOu just played your way out of the playoffs, and you were expected to be SB contenders; your season is a ginormous fail, what do you expect, a standing ovation? F u, and that stupid smug attitude you got from your smug ass HC Lovie.
Buffone btw took offense of this also; b/c he inferred that the media and fans don't know what they are talking about....Buffone pointed out that he's pissed and he played and does know what he's talking about. And there are multiple media people that are former players, bears players in Chicago. F off to both you jag's.
Agree on Cutler. Sometimes he looks like ass out there even when he has time. Bad decisions, inaccurate throws, and holding the ball way too long at times. I know Rodgers has better receivers and better protection, but he also makes way fewer big mistakes than Jay does.
And the fans were pissed and booing BECAUSE THE OFFENSE BLOWS BIG TIME. Utterly inept. Embarrassingly bad. Can't move the ball, score, or even take advantage of turnovers deep in the enemy's side of the field.
