I don't have a problem with lax officiating, but when it is inconsistent it suggests referee bias.
I think "suggests" is putting very mildly. Cutler was hit worse than Rodgers but Rodgers gets the flag on Peppers. The timeout by Hester and I think Lovie was missed. Letting the Packers' wide receivers play while calling 3 PI's on Jeffrey, but failing to call it on Shields. There was also blatant holding by the GB o-line that was not called either. I'm sorry, both teams played like crap but the refs handed it to Green Bay.

I'm not making any excuses for the Bears' incompetent offense. It sucked as usual and deserved to lose. Truly pathetic, especially the OL. I think we would have lost anyway even if the officiating was professional quality and even-handed (which it clearly was not). There's plenty of doubt that our O would have converted the opportunities afforded anyway and Green Bay/Rodgers would have played more aggressively with the ball if the game was truly in the balance. Lets not forget that the Packers tried to give the game away with that stupid STs play and all we did is end up with a FG there and when we had 1st & Goal at the 5. The OL couldn't block/protect for shit, Hester was useless as usual, and Cutler was comically bad even when he had time. Enough said about that. We all expected it anyway.
But....whether or not it would have changed the outcome and whether or not the Bears played too poorly to "deserve" to win....does NOT excuse horrible officiating either. The NFL got embarrassed by some blown calls by the replacement refs and the league should be embarrassed by the ineptitude and inconsistency of the crew working this game too. These refs were basically determined to not let the Packers lose no matter what. There were terrible missed calls and terrible over-calls repeatedly. And there was no consistency in whether they were going to call the game "tight" or "let them play". The net result is that the officiating was decidedly biased and one-sided in favor of Green Bay. The refs were terrible and the calls were bullshit, especially the Conte & Peppers call and the Shields no-call. The NFL should be embarrassed and remove this crew from rotation.

Don't know if it would be a fine but I would have pulled the team for a play or 2 in protest once the outcome was certain. Wonder if Goodell will fine Pep for that hit.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

Bet he does. It would fit with the whole putting the Bears over a barrel situation they were in this whole game

Jeffrey can't get away with extending his arms. Every good receiver pushes off some, but it can't be so obvious. I will say that the refs were pretty bad to both sides with missed & poor calls during the plays. What the Packers really get away with a lot, though, is taunting. I can't believe they didn't see Shields yakking at Jeffrey all the way back to the huddle after the PI on the touchdown. They do it all the time and it's never called. When Shields interfered on that last play, Jeffrey refused a hand up from a Packer. It had to be frustration from that crap all day.
All that said, the Bears lost because they didn't make enough plays on either side of the ball. Fire Lovie!

Benj, I only counted 1 TD that called back. And again, you are acting like GB couldn't have scored if they had wanted too. I don't look at this game like it was a loss b/c of the Ref's, I look at it as not being close maybe, but no a loss.

Although there were some very questionable calls we didn't play well enough to win this game at all. Our offense is too inconsistent. Our running game started out well and did decent throughout but we got to mix it up! I did like seeing him target Forte a few more times out of the backfield but I'd hope to do it when Cutler trying to make something happen when he's not trying to get crushed.

Pretty darn good, except for the game today! LOL I think we can win out... I really do. We still have a real shot at the playoffs but as far as going deep, probably not a real good chance at that. As a fellow Cub fan. You know there is always next year. Not giving up hope just yet!
