My heart wants them to win. Win the last 2. Get into the playoffs and win there too. All the way.
My head says that's dumb and totally unrealistic. That it would be way better long term to finish 8-8, end the Lovie-Tice era, get higher draft picks, and build a better team and organization for the future.
It sucks having this conflict.

Yes. Everyone is back healthy except for Urlacher and the people on IR.

While we have a shot at the play-offs of course I want them to win, 100%. anything can happen in the play-offs. I know its a cliche and I know we'll most likely get embarrassingly roasted by someone like the pack and I know it means Lovie et al might stay but that's why we're fans to see our mighty Bears WIN!
having said that, and with the kool aid glass firmly removed from my hand, if we DO lose, we might as well lose the last one too. Beating the vikes last year and in so doing dropping from 13th to 19th pick hurt us. I can nnever root against the bears, but lets just say if we DO lose, it aint all bad.
sorry state of affairs (i've avoided the board the last few weeks as been so gutted by the team's capitulation)
Now let's BEAR DOWN and do this thing. The Bears are who we thought they were!!! ;)

Granted, I've not watched too much of any game lately, but I'm always gonna check Bears games out, because I cannot stand the wait from season to season (with the exception of 99, could NOT sit through McCown) and I hope to god they make the playoffs. Where many of you have great optimism in Emery's ability to pick the next good HC, I don't have any such illusions (from where I sit) and still think Lovie can/will get us a SB with actual talent on the line. I don't care if we get a lower draft pick, because, regardless, we are going to get a few olinemen this year, and if they're coming from FA, wouldn't they be more likely to come here if we won a playoff game, and it looked like they were the missing piece?

This should be every game, not just these last two.

Just a few days left. I would be surprised if we lost this game. Their line is as bad as ours annd we have a pretty good D line. We should keep them from scoring. Of course we should also keep us from scoring (LOL), but we should still win.

While I don't share your sentiments regarding Lovie, you make a very good point regarding FAs. Plus, would top-tier FAs want to come here if we have a change in HC? As you state, a Long or Bushrod-type might want to go to a team that is a legitimate contender, not one in a retool/rebuild phase.

As bad off as we are, I don't think we're in a rebuild phase - or need one. A couple of O-liners and an LB, with a corner and a WR for depth, and we're in great shape. I think we already are legitimate contenders. Or we would be if of our coaching staff knew anything about anything other than media handling.
