Will Marinelli and Toub stay if the new HC wants to keep them?
I realize a new HC may want a clean sweep of all coaches. But if the new guy wanted to keep Toub and Marinelli here, do you think they'd stay?
On a side note, do you think Bates would? I'm thinking he's going to get an OC offer sooner rather than later. I'm not saying he deserves this or doesn't deserve it, but just commenting on the fact he's probably going to get an offer. If the Bears had a brain at all, they would let Bates call plays these last two games and see what they have in him as a play caller.
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

The only ones I would keep are Toub/Bates. But that depends on who the new HC is and if it's a Offensive guy or Deffensive guy. If he's an O guy I doubt he keeps Bates, he'll want to either install his O on his own, or bring in someone that will install his O; something that Bates apparently wasn't able to do for Carroll in Sea.

If we get a offensive minded HC then I'd like Marinelli stay as DC or wish thinking Lovie Smith.
Toub can stay here aswell, he is one of the best ST coachs.

Good points. I've had some of the same thoughts.
I'm not too concerned until Emery decides what he is going to do. Toub is the only coach that is always rated near the top of his group in the NFL. Marinelli seems to be good also. Unless we can do better, I would think he should be kept. I think Marinelli might have loyalties to Lovie and he might only stay as long as his contract dictates. However, if the new HC has a fast track to success like some of the guys that have recently come in, then everyone might want to stay and play for the ring. I think that a good environment and success also breed loyalty.
Not sure what to think with Bates. I don't see an explosive O right now, but don't really know how much of what we see is Bates. I honestly can not form an opinion on him. Hopefully Emery knows what is really going on and make the right decision regarding Bates.
Too many moving parts right now.

This is why I am not a fan of Lovie anymore. He is too much of an assistant coaches pal than a head coach. He got rid of Ron Rivera after a successful defensive year and hired Babich. He hired Martz, then Tice. Now that Tice clearly is not the guy for the job, he is not willing to make a change to Bates to see if things will work that way. He is just too stubborn and it takes way too long for him to make a necessary change.

if its a move by the top guys to save money Im totally against it. If this is a move that is made AFTER the HC is introduced and has time to review what he is working with I would fully back this. Especially if we bring in an offensive minded coach like Arians

From what I have heard Bates has already thrown his hat in the ring for the OC job and Cutler and Marshall are backing him. As for Marinelli it been stated that he would only return next here if Lovie is gone, he is tried of being micromanaged by Lovie. It would seem and no surprise here that it Lovies way and thats doesn't sit well with Marinelli

This is interesting information, where is the source of it? Is there an online article or radio talk disclosed from inside sources?

Yeah, big surprise for me too. I thought those two were joined at the hip. Maybe gives some insight as to why Rivera was let go. He doesn't strike me as anyones lap dog

If people inside the organization are throwing their names into the hat for a position that is already filled, you can start to read the tea leaves. Wonder how Tice feels about that? Anyone wake up Lovie and let him know?
