I should take every thread that devolved into a "cutler" sucks (either partially or totally) meme and combine them. We'd have like two non-TBS threads in the entire forum.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. Stats are only good when you know how to interpret them Benji and in a game like football they are not absolutes. In addition they aren't the only stats that measure success or failure. They're just the one YOU'VE chosen to use because it's what writers and talking heads use who figure most of can't figure the rest out for ourselves.
The entire offense played like shit and the yardage totals indicate that but stop shooting the one guy who's out there trying his damnedest to make it better.
Cutler throws a TD pass but it gets waved off because of a penalty. I just got through watching some game vids and on a goaline play Forte doesn't follow his lead blocker to the edge where the correct blocks were set for him, turns back inside, and get stopped by guys on the backside of the play who never should even have been involved to begin with. Was the Cutler's fault?
Who didn't run the right route or comeback for the ball on the pick that set up the GB score before half time. Cutler didn't throw it to himself. You want a stat that never comes up? I'll give you one and here it is. Jay Cutler has been picked more times per attempt when throwing to Hester than any other WR on this team. Why is that? Does Cutler only throw bad passes when throwing to Hester or does Hester maybe have something to do with that?
Screw those stats. When the line starts blocking and the offense starts clicking he's as good as any QB in the league but he's not God. You take any other QB in the league you like and put them in this busted ass offense of incompetents and half hearted quitters and a dare them to do much better.
Totally agree with this...Cutler is not the problem.... Coach has to GO and we need a Damn oline that can make holes for the rb and give qb protection... Seems soooo simple to me, why can't we fix this....BTW...I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE PACKERS.....
In your OPINION that maybe true but in fact it may not be all that true. Rodgers is a very accomlished QB playing in a system that he's not only been running with same coaching for 5 seasons but he understudied Favre for three before that. So Rodgers is in his 8th year in that offense and it is damn good passing offense that has had quality WR and TEs for the entire time he's played.
What has Cutler had to contend with compared to that? So stats don't mean as much when they aren't looked at with an analysis of how they were compiled. The public can't handle in depth comparative analysis and all of the factors that go with it and it even drives me nuts when I look at some of that stuff and I do it for a living but we can use common sense to make a reasonable judgement as to what the differences might be like were their situations reversed.
In his third year in the NFL Jay Cutler led the 3rd ranked offense in the entire NFL completed over 62% of his passes for 25 TDs and was chosen for the Pro Bowl. In his 3rd year in the NFL Aaron Rodgers was still Favre's backup. If Cutler had remained in Denver with Shanahan, Bates and Marshall then we may have a better comparison of the two but in Chicago, nah.
Angelo trading for Cutler and refusing to get him receivers who could get open and catch or a line who could protect him and give him time to set up and throw was like buying an $80k BMW with no garage to keep it in and simply leaving it out to rust. Cutler has been hosed ever since he got here and although Tice said it would be different this year I think we all thought he meant better not worse!
Aaron Rodgers is a far more precise passer than Cutler but if Cutler ever gets an offense that works to his strengths he'll be the more dynamic playmaker just as Elway and Favre were who he is actually far more like as a passer than he is like Rodgers. They aren't the same type of QB.
this scenario wouldn't surprise me...
this would be the end of Smith too. Can't lose that many times against the Packers
The only way we can win against the Packers is if.
A. Their girly OLB sits out.
B. Rodgers is out.
C. Their coaches will make stupid play calls on ST.
The only thing I care about is wether Lovie will be our HC in the next season. Time for fresh blood and a new era.
Also there is no doubt that Rodgers is a better QB than Cutler, just see how he avoid getting sacked in the pocket and still manage to throw the ball and have someone catch it. I rarely remember Cutler doing so most of the time he is just running if he get's out of the pocket due to pressure.
Packers also have a better scheme and playcalling so when you combine those thing you get what the Packers have.
When you have bad scheme and playcalling and a non elite QB you get what Bears have. Rodgers would probably look better in Chicago than Cutler would because he is a better QB, that being said I'm happy with Cutler and I belive he could beat the Packers if he had better playcalling and scheme.. Oh and perhaps he had guys that could actually catch the ball he throws.
Actually, everyone (Lovie, Hester, Jay) said it was the right route and that Cutler made the wrong throw. Hester is a bad WR, but now you are being an apologist. That pick was on CUTLER!
Let me ask you this. How much blame do you put on Cutler? For this game, for all others against the packers, for this season....
That stat is skewed. The Packers run a ton more plays than the Bears because they move the ball more and score more. Look how many more pass opportunities Rodgers has - he has more opportunities to get sacked. Cutler has fewer dropbacks per sack than Rodgers. Cutler's pocket instantly collapses on nearly every play. Green Bay's offensive line isn't good, but it is light years better than ours.
As for that game, if it did happen, there's no doubt in my mind the Bears would win. It's really hard to beat a team three times in a season. I have a feeling Cutler would put together an incredible game and the defense would come up with a huge strip sack TD return. Of course, that might be the worst thing longterm because it would buy Lovie another year.
I do know that making the playoffs and losing to the Packers a third time will be worse for Lovie than going 10-6 and missing the playoffs. The organization HATES losing to Green Bay, and with good reason. They are a talented team, but far from the powerhouse the Bears make them look like. They played sloppy ball and should have lost both games against the Bears this year. It was one thing losing to them in the '90s when they had Favre and the Bears sucked, but there is no reason at all we should be unable to beat this team with both teams' talent levels. If Lovie loses to the Packers again, he is gone the next day.
I don't understand the Cutler issue at all, but maybe I need to re-read all the anti-Cutler posts again.
We change OC's and schemes almost annually - always a bad OC. Year-after-year there is utter failure to put an NFL-quality offensive line on the field. We don't have a single TE who can catch. And the Bears wonder why we fail on offense. And some folks blame Cutler, and wonder why A. Rodgers is performing better. Some want us to get rid of Cutler as if he is "The Problem" here.
You'd think intelligent people would be able to connect the dots & figure this one out.
