Mark your calanders: January 5 Bears @ Packers
That is right, I am calling it. Bears will make the playoffs as the six seed and travel north to the Frozen Tundra to face the hated rival packers!
NFL.com has the Bears listed as the 7th seed at the moment, with the Vikings as the 6th seed. Bears SHOULD be able to beat the Lions and the Cardinals. The Vikings SHOULD lose to both the packers and the Texans.
With the Bears making the playoffs at 10-6, Lovie likely comes back. Likely as a lame duck coach, but he will be back in 2013, even if the Bears get ousted in the first round!

Benji I think your analysis is OK but if we do get that far and you think that we'll get any farther than one and done all I can say is "don't Bogart that joint my friend, pass it on over to me".
Playoff or not this team is done for the year and even they know it. You can see it on the faces of too many and hear it in their weekly excuses of "we just have to play better". Like I said they're like a drunk waking up from a three day bender and telling everyone, "I have to stop drinking" and then getting on his coat and heading for the nearest bar or liquor store.
The only way that drunk stops drinking is the day he "chooses" to do that and the only way the Bears stop losing by doing much the same. Right now they haven't and I don't believe they will by then either. We should be able to beat the Cards with little problem since they seem to enjoy losing more than we do but against the Lions in their house I think we'll have problems.
Call me a cynic or call me a "realist" but what I believe will happen is this. We'll beat the Cards and the Vikes will lose those two games but.........we'll lose a tough one to the Lions on the road and the tease will end in disappointment at 9-7 and one game shy of what's needed just like it did in Houston three years ago.
If the last five years of the Lovie Smith era have proven anything it's that this team cannot and will not win when they absolutely have to. For whatever reason the killer instinct to deliver that blow is lacking. The character, schemes and execution of it needed to win the big ones just isn't there and this season has highlighted that again in neon lights.
Or in other words, don't get your hopes up.

I know we will be one and done. Cutler can not beat the packers. And they will be our first round opponent

Yap, if it wasn't for JC, beating GB would be EASY. Too bad he's the only thing wrong on the team. I wish he would quit making the gameplan, then the Bears might have half a chance.
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

It has almost nothing to do with Cutler other than the fact that our game plans and play calling against them have generally sucked. Lovie is being out coached every time we play them and it's been going on for nearly five years now.
Jay Cutler isn't coaching the team, preparing the game plans, or calling most of the plays. He's not dropping catchable passes, sacking himself or the reason we can't seem to go one game without drive stalling penalties either.
Ya know I get sick and tired of anyone taking a weak ass lazy excuse like this Benji instead of looking into all of the reasons why we fail to beat the Packers. Do those same reasons exist in the other four games we lost that weren't against the Packers where we got out coached or failed to give Cutler the protection and execution he needed too?
Hell he didn't even play in one and half of those so how can you blame him? This was a worthless comment and you know it.

I am going off QB rating, TD to pick ratio. Total yards. Are you actually saying he played well against them? At all?

Yeah? Well I'll tell you what. Let's put Cutler on the Packers and ask Rodgers to operate our offense and let's see what happens. If Aaron can beat his own team behind our line playing Tices scheme THEN I may begin to believe you.
Criticizing Cutler is like wondering why a NASCAR driver who's behind the wheel of the 2nd slowest qualifying car didn't win the Daytona 500. He's the driver but he can only drive the piece of shit he's been asked to drive.
Yeah when the offense doesn't work let's over simplify everything and just blame the QB. What QB that we've had here in the last 25 years has played any better than Cutler? Tell me. I'm dieing to hear the answer to this one.

Cutler on the packers would not help the packers at all. Rodgers is a much better QB than Cutler.

are you trying to say we go into green bay with a competent game plan?
everyone hates martz yet the entire offense from a to z has regressed with the exception we have a bad ass wr with great stats. I didnt state this to bring up a Martz debate. Just saying even against shit teams our offense has been crap. Why is Cutler worse now then last season when we know their were short falls in martz system with the players we had? Its easy benj our OC stinks. We have better players then last season yet we regressed.
and look at lovie since the superbowl loss why dont you plot out for me the past six seasons how many big games have we won? How many real teams have we beat?
outcoached bro no other explanation. That is why teams coached by real teams like 49ers can turn it around in just one damn season
