what I find funny, is if Lovie is kept next year, everyone will say it is because Virginia wanted him here and not Emery

If Lovie could pull a miracle they wouldnt have gone from 7-3 to 8-8 last year. 7-1 to 8-6 this year, hes gone. Plz

That is a great point. Who really knows what Emery will see as the best route to take. He may end up thinking the answer is to get a rock solid OC in place - rather than blowing the whole coaching staff up & rebuilding schemes, coaches and having to bring in players to fit the new schemes, etc.
For us fans, it all looks so clear - and easy. But with Emery it may be a more complex decision that requires him to weigh a lot of factors. We (obviously) don't have as much at stake in this as Emery does. Ultimately it's his job and career on the line if he screws this up. For us, it's just another bad season(s) if it doesn't work out.

I don't know about everyone, but if Lovie is kept on, unless I hear that Virginia made him do it (which I doubt), I am blaming Emery. Not saying keeping Lovie won't work, but it's the definition of insanity -- trying the same thing over and over expecting a different result. I have very serious doubts, but I would back Lovie if he continues to be the Bears coach. I didn't say anything about critiquing his moves though :-)

You may be the exception then. But most will figure that Emery is the GM in title only

If DAA BEARRSSE go 9-7 or 10-6 ... Lovie stays.
Heres one thing to remember : Lovie and Emery just met.
This is the honeymoon year between HC and GM.
If Lovie leads the team to 8-8 ... pretty good chance he's gone.
So who does Emery fill the HC job with ?

I bet he's already got a short list to interview. What senior-executive doesn't maintain a bench-list of candidates for key personnel? Norv Turner, Andy Reid, Bruce Arians, Dave Toub...who knows

Wasn't Emery a member of the scouting dpt. the first year Lovie was HC? Not saying that Emery knows Lovie, just that they may have met before this year, if only in passing..
"Professional Armchair Quarterback" and other oxymora.....
