The WR/TE thread
Okay, obviously BM and AJ are gonna be around next year, but we're gonna have to have a better supporting cast, especially if BM were to become injured. No one on this roster is gonna be able to fill 1/4 of his shoes. So:
who should stay:
Brandon Marshall
Alshon Jeffrey
who should/could go:
Bennett (too many injuries, and just not as much expected production)
Hester (only as a WR; if he were to refuse to give that up, then bye bye)
Sanz (he needs a shot somewhere else)
Knox (let's just face facts, even if he comes back, his forte is speed, and he ain't gonna have it)
Davis (no explanation needed)
Spaeth (see Davis)
Who could we pick up?
I would like Bowe, but he's gonna be too expensive
What would be nice, getting K Davis and Jared Cook. I think having two really good pass catching TE's (which puts further impetus on improving the o-line) would help our offense by giving Cutler legitimate options outside of Brandon Marshall and AJ (assuming he actually stays on the field, and gets better)
who do you think should/could go and who would be nice to pick up?

lovie smith should go challenging that play he had 0.0& chance on winning. What a dumbass redundant move we have seen way to much over the years.
Jay Cutler should go also, he is a headcase.
-
knox/weems/sanz/Spaeth/Davis should go.(I hate saying Sanz but his only way to find the field w/us is via the ST's, and apparently he isn't capable of doing that).
Bubble, Joe Anderson, Hester, Adams
Keepers Marshal/Jeffery/Bennett, No TE should feel safe.
Next years roster should look something along the lines of this: Marshal/Jeffery/Bennett/late round rookie WR/Anderson/Hester/FA TE/Adams/Late round rookie TE. Then bring in a few UDFA WR's/TE's to see if anyone sticks or are at least worth developing.

The only decent receiver we have on the roster, after BM and AJ is Bennett. Knox will probably never play again. The others are wannabees or worse - bums.
We need at least one TE who can catch a football. We need another WR who can play at a high level. He doesn't have to be great, but at least better than the crap we have.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

Knox is done. He'll never play again. Bennett, AJ, BM should stay. I don't care for the rest. Davis, Spaeth, and Adams MUST be dropped. Bell sucks. Armando Allen is workable. Webb never was any good. I don't care if Lovie stays or leaves anymore.

Please let the first receiver they release in the offseason be Kellen Davis. That lazy bastard can't even block his man on a FG attempt. Talk about a guy who had the potential to be an important part of the offense this year who really bit the big one. I don't ever want to see that misfit in a Bears uniform again. You talk about guys who got their bigger deal and then got lazy there's the guy. He's useless.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I would like to give TE Dustin Keller, NYJ a look in free agency. With the changes at NY, he might be anxious to get out of town.
Keep Marshall, Jeffrey, Bennett, Sanz.
Keep Adams, give him one more year. Cut Spaeth, Davis.

Dangit, i kept calling Keller Davis. Srsly, cut as much dead weight as possible over the roster, take Cook and Keller, and we got a poor man's NE, as far as the passing game goes. That all depends on a coach that gets the team ready to play each week.

Get rid of Drake and Debord and Emery will do the rest.

Like Jared Cook as well, but he got placed on IR with a torn rotator cuff last week/week before. But, that is an injury I would think a full recovery is possible. If healthy, he would be another good choice.
