because he actually has talent to end up as a good enough WR

German, it doesn't matter if he can be a good wr, he wasn't going to be better then the 1 or 2, which means you have to be able to contribute on ST's, and he wasn't able to do that. If he was you would have seen more of him and less of Weems.

Anyway you cut it it was another poor personnel move to let that guy go with just one game left when there were others who could have been released to clear roster space who would not have been such prime candidates to be picked up immediately by another team.
It works out well for Sanz because he may finally get a shot at showing what he can do. Here is was clear that he wasn't enough of a favorite son of either Drake or Lovie to even see the field this year. He played well early in the 2011 season and most likely had his rookie issues and drops behind him yet we play a guy like Hester all year long when I believe Sanz could have been of far more help to the offense than Hester.
There is no reason why Sanz couldn't have played STeams. He did last year and Toub was complimentary of his play. His size shouldn't have been a factor in that regard either since both he and Allen are roughly the same size and Allen serves s the personal protector on the punt coverage team. Sanz was simply an odd man out because of Drake and Lovie and I believe that was another huge personnel mistake just like so many others that have been made over the past nine years.
To me it's less about Sanz proper than it is about the way Lovie goes about managing his offensive personnel. He keeps unneeded 3rd string QBs and TE who not only can't catch but can't even make their blocks on a chip shot FG attempt and basically suck all year long yet a guy who can catch and puts out 110% effort stays inactive most of the year when we could have used a good possession receiver to help move the chains.
Lovie doesn't know offensive football and he doesn't know how to evaluate offensive personnel or we wouldn't have had to trade for and sign as FAs much of the talent we acquired. This isn't the worst move he's made but for me it's the straw that finally broke my back as far as trusting that he will ever turn this team into a champion. It's time to make a change.

There's really no way of knowing. Weems played because Weems gets paid far more $$$ than Sanz and around here that seems to be the way it works. If anyone can give me another reason why Kellen Davis continues to start after the way he's played this year I want to hear it. That failed block on the FG attempt last week was the coup de grace.
Anyone with a rookie or vet minimum deal would have seen the bench long ago yet Davis continues to play regressing as the season is progressing. How many other players have we seen get that same treatment over the past nine years. Once Lovie gets enamored of a player that guy gets ever benefit of the doubt while others who have as much or more potential to help the team sit in Lovie's doghouse week after week after week. The guys can't evaluate offensive talent and never has been able to. If he could we'd have built a great Oline sometime during the past nine years to rival his Dlines and we haven't.
The thing that really annoys me is that over the past four weeks this team should have been playing for their coaches jobs but from what I can see they weren't. That's tells me they'd either have new coaching or.......that Lovie never really has been in any danger of being replaced. Frankly, if I was a betting man I'd opt for the latter and that's a shame.

So who cares who the coach is, it's a moot point. So business wise it makes sense to keep Lovie as a Lame Duck coach, then just hirer a no name bargin coach. Only task then is to trade all the picks for a REAL QB via draft or trade. Oh and let JC walk away with Lovie. You wouldn't take GB's or NE's coach over Lovie, no upgrade?
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

Sure they are upgrades. Or at least appear that way. A great QB can make a coach look great. Players get coaches fired for their poor play, and can make them richer than their wildest dreams by playing great.

All I can say... Sanzenbacher has potential and is a good guy. He needs more time and practice. Drake sucks at this.

Everyone has potential. Not going to cause me to lose sleep over his being waived.
