Over one questionable personnel decision like this no but added to the dozens of others it does cause me a lot of concern not the least of which is why keep the kid around and not use him when it was clear we needed some possession catches to keep moving the ball and the TEs weren't getting it done?
I don't buy the STeams deal either. Weems bumped him off that assignment but we really got nothing out of him as a WR and his STeams play was pretty average. He certainly didn't play at the Pro Bowl level he did two years ago. If there was any money wasted on a FA this past year I'd be looking at Weems not Bush.
I think it was just one more poor move at the end of a list of many. Sanz could have helped this team this year and I believe he could have earned a role as a #4 WR had he been kept and we finally got around to punching Hester's ticket to the bench for anything other than returns. I guess we'll find out whether Sanz has it or not now that he's gone elsewhere if he's given a chance.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

If it is so important for Sanz to play ST then why not cut him all those weeks ago because you know- PEANUT SHOUDN"T be playing ST!!! As far as space for a safety McCown or one of our non-performing TE's could have gotten the axe.
"He didn't contribute much anyway" Ok I get that you cut the guys at the bottom who don't develop. But WHO has been developed?
I don't care if Sanz is cut because:
Drake won't develop him
Cutty wouldn't throw to him
And Tice wouldn't know how to use him.

The very fact that we're even discussing Sanz getting cut, points to the fact that we have so much mediocre talent on this team. Sanz, is just another poster-boy of how we expect mediocre UFA's to actually help this team. We have way too many mediocre players and coaches.
Of course that is why we have mediocre success.

perfectly said. Sanz should have been a nice pickup if he pans out, and if not no worries. Instead we are worrying about a small slow WR w/great hands in college. That is the state of the WR's on the Bears. The back half of that group needs completely overhauled.

Emery has to decide if continued mediocrity is OK. Or, if it's worth rolling the dice on greatness. I'm tired of the mediocrity, and the Chicago fan base is too.
I hope Emery pulls out all the stops and pursues a coach who can shake up this mentality of mediocrity in Chicago. You know why we rant about guys like Belichik? We envy him (and the other great coaches) who lead franchises with a trophy case full of Lombardi Trophies.
The Bears?
We worry about losing a mediocre talent like Sanz. We are pathetic.
