We have a weak team that needs a miracle to make the playoffs. Why dink around firing up your opponent with trash talk?
Sure, if we WERE the '85 Bears who could actually, you know, back up the talk, then I'd be fine. We are not the '85 Bears though.

Could it possibly be that the bears (Wright and Melton) are trying to get into the heads of a mentally weak team? Get them "pumped up" and over extend themselves to the point they are going to make more mistakes? It is possible.
Again, this is not typical of a Lovie Smith team. But Marshall did it a few weeks ago with the packers, and now Wright and Melton are doing it. Either they are doing it on their own, or someone else is telling them that it is fine.

From what I understand everything Wright was saying in that interview was complimentary. "He makes all the throws, has a great arm" things like that. Then added "we need to consistently pressure him cuz he tends to fold a bit under pressure"
My understanding of Melton, is he was asked if the Lions were dirty and said "yeah, always have been" and then singled out Raiola.
Probably not real smart, would've been better to go with the old "no comment", but I don't see it as going out trying to trash talk the Lions.
