    What we Learned

This was like the Az game all over again, except the D didn't score and niether did the O, at least not enough for having 4 turn overs. Matthew Stafford and Cutler are so similar is sick, ton's of potential, but just lacking that extra something. Still we are capable of beating tomatoe cans, that's what we really learned.

Chicago O: They were able to move the ball decently at times, but not score on short yards after turnover. Cutler was erractic today, but still was able to spread the ball around. The only guy catching the ball that had a really bad day was Davis; and suprisingly Marshal. Bennett and Jeffery were huge, Forte was strong only having one really bad 3rd and short, but did prove when there is even a small hole he can hit it and get a few tough yards. I'm very disappointed that Allen didn't get any looks. 2nd week in a row that Hester got no looks, and the O looked no better or worse then it normally does; just pointing this out for those that thought he was some kind of desease causing the issue. Davis is still unfortunately getting targetted and that is the guy that can be costly.

Chicago D: This group saved this game. ton's of pressure on Stafford, and 4 turn overs is all you should have to do to on D to allow the team to win. Ya they gave up a lot of points(for them) but if the O was finishing drives and scoring TD's and not fg's on 3 of those turn overs it wouldn't have mattered. They also really kept CJ quite again.

Chicago coaches: Lovie's lucky horseshoe was firmly implanted in his backside, Tice/Bates finally got Cutler to spread the ball around, and when he did he looked solid. The D did what it's asked to do.

Det O: Man they are explosive and refuse to give up, they have total faith they can come back from anything. CJ was kept quite but Stafford also spread the ball around. Difference between the two O's today was the turnovers.

Det D: They did their job, but their O kept turning the ball over. They were solid.

Det Coaches: Seems they have calmed this team down, and now they have the intenisty and the never give up attitude, but are playing smarter. The 2ndry is still their weak spot, and it decided the game.

-IF the Lions can get a DB or two, Stafford improves in terms of ball protection AND the team stays healthy they will be a threat in the NFC North.
-Glad to see Bennett have a good game.
    -The O-Line sucks.
    -Coaching was okay today.
-Cutler needs to keep spreading it out.

What did we learn. The same thing we've seen all season. That offense absolutely sucks when it's in the red zone. It's just pathetic watching them settle for FG after chip shot FG. I get fed up even watching them. Another game where the defense handed them over half their points.

Just get somebody who can design and run that offense. With Tice it's nothing but a clusterfuck. They start moving the ball and then have a bad series with bad calls and the drive stalls. Truly great teams take that ball down the field like Detroit did. The Bears have as good or better offensive personnel as the Lions yet we can't score. Week after week it's the same old BS.

Either get rid of Lovie and get an offensive minded HC OR get the f' rid of Tice. Jeezus it's tiring to watch this crap.

How about get rite of them both and hire an offensive minded OC in Bruce Arians, Mike McCoy or Greg Roman.

What did we learn? Nothing. Nothing has changed in 7 weeks. Offense sucks. Defense is good. Coaching needs improvement. We struggle to beat a very bad team so winning a playoff game is very unlikely. Goodbye Lovie. Hello new season.

    What we learned:

-The Bears didn't completely tank like they did last year.
    -Different year, same problems.
-They will like be one-and-done if they get into the playoffs.

I thought that this OL over the last few weeks looked pretty solid; better then the 1st group they threw together, which is really sad and a true inditement on Tice, even more then the playcalling. The way the OL played the last few weeks is enough to make me feel like it only needs a few peices and not a complete overhaul. LT and a C are needed, but the rest might be there in depth and potential talent.

Forte was able to run inside as well as anyone else today, he had a few real strong gains, he per usual had a strong game running outside. Cutler was kept fairly clean also, he was hurried but against that DL that should be expected at the very least.

I agree it was nice seeing Bennett have a good game, same w/Jeffery, it's just a shame that Marshal didn't have his typical game.

btw, I think our D kept them from getting CJ the record, he only ended up w/75 yards I believe. Would love to see a CB developing under Tillman, but Jennings is proving a keeper.

    Chicago Bears Today

In spite of 4 turnovers, the Bears nearly choked the game away.
They allowed the 17 point lead to dwindle down to 2.
Cutler had to burn 3 timeouts because of the plays not getting in.
After taking a timeout, the play called went nowhere.
Fieldgoals are still the only way they can score,(other than the defense).
    Hester has become a non-factor.
    Kellen Davis still sucks.
Jennings,Briggs and peanut are playing at a high level.
Talent wise, this team should have put Detroit away in the first half.
The fact that they didn't,speaks volumes.

Well the Packers aren't going to beat the Vikings. It really comes down to the offensive line. When you max protect you take away options to throw to and when you have short yardage/goal line situations you have no push.

Somehow over the course of this season our return game went from the most feared in football to possibly, the worst in the league.
I doubt anyone has an answer as to what happened to Hester this season but he was painful to watch both today & throughout the year.
I don't want him gone --- I just hope that if he's still here next year, it's strictly as a returner. This WR experiment has been a complete failure & I think he's lost confidence in himself to the point where his natural ability has been affected by over-thinking everything.
