if the next coach if there is one changes to a 3-4 and doesn't believe we need him anymore every cap dollar will be needed next year to get players for the new scheme and if you take a long term look at things like I do taking the cap hit now will also save for cap space big time a year later. Like I said it all depends on who is coaching. Who knows we assume if lovie is fired emery will bring in a 3-4 guy

That list would be too long . Easier to list who I would keep : Cutler , Marshall , Wooton , McClellin , Conte , Costanzo , Forte , Jeffery , Jennings , Melton , Mannely , Podlesh . ( Even a few of these guys should be kept on a short leash ).

EVERYONE else is tradeable because they're either : bad / mediocre / even 'good' , but getting too long in the tooth , and u trade them for picks while you still can . Some will probably want out anyways , and even if u only acquire 3+ rounders you can parlay some of those picks together to move up ( if u want to ).

( I'd rather be bad again for a few years anyways ... so we can move up in the draft and get 'difference makers' - those 20%ers who really put your team over the top .. and you don't get them being 9-7 every year ).

Surprised you didn't mention Peppers or Tillman as the must keeps.

But, you realize you wont get anything good for the ones who were left off your keep list. Most of them wont even net you a worth while pick.

That's where the age part came in .

As for the rest , I realized they probably wouldn't net much in return .... and that speaks for itself .

Hope Emery and crew are solid at evaluating FA + drafting cuz that's where any hope lies .

FA, sign two FA OL. Find a way to do it.

Draft a WR, MLB maybe two of each and another OL somewhere.

    Agree 2 FA OL + Eric Fisher in rd 1 ( LT - Cent Mich - 6'08 305 - solid , athletic , loong arms , passionate )

    TE / LB / C

TE, sign the guy from Det. their backup. He used to be Cutler's TE in Denver. But we NEED another WR. Especially since Bennett and Jeffery cannot seem to stay healthy

I suggested they try to get Riley Cooper ( WR Eagles ) in another thread . I think he's a big , tough , under-utilized player who's begging for more action .

If he isn't a free agent, we can't afford to spend the picks
