The mentioned names are all good candidates. McCoy and the two Kelly's are a good start. Hopefully he will interview them also.

At this point I'd prefer Bruce Ariens. He proved in Indy this season that he is true HC material. No wonder Big Ben was bummed out when Pittsburgh let him go. Now where is Pittsburgh (a pre-season favorite)?..... And ........ Where is Indy (a team picked to play .500 ball) ? Just sayin'

You want innovation and offense? Chip Kelly is your man.
Reported that the Chiefs and Chicago are both going to interview Keith Armstrong(ST guy from Atl). Also reported this is likely for the Rooney rule.
It was just reported on the Boers and Bernstein show that Gruden has been shooting down teams that are interested in him. He's likely to remain with ESPN, y'all.
It's a lot easier being the coach that everyone wants and thinks is capable of getting them to the promised land than it is to actually prove it. Especially when you are making millions and have his rep. Everyone thinks he will be a winner. All he can do as a best case is prove them right. No upside. He would just meet expectations. But if he fails, he has lots of downside and it may hurt his ESPN gig too. Better to be a legend that everyone wants than to go out and try to prove it and possibly fail.
If he really wanted to be a coach, he would. Since he apparently would rather sit in his cushy chair, I'd say he would probably have been a bad choice. People do best at what they really want to do. He would rather stay an announcer. Coaching at this point would be all downside and no upside.
Probably a good decision on his part.
Yep BIH, he's always right when an announcer, as a coach......
Plus, there isn't the time investment in announcing that there is as a coach.
I know it's fun playing GM and conjuring up scenarios. But for the first time, well ever, I actually have faith in the current GM. I trust he will vet the options fully and make the best choice available. I'm not worried about it and will be excited and support whoever he chooses. It's kind of a nice feeling because, like I said, I never felt that confident before. :)
