    Hester contemplating retirement

Word from Brad Biggs, Hester is furious over Smith's firing, says he isn't sure he wants to play anymore.

He won't retire. Juvenile reaction though.

Fine by me. Don't need that kind of attitude on our team, or his poor sense of direction. Or is it he's afraid of the coming accountability, and he might actually have to work for it.

I'm not sure I want Hester to play for the Bears anymore. As a matter of fact, I'm sure of it. I don't think he has another return in him anyway. Besides the fact that he sucks as a receiver. I'm grateful for what he's accomplished, but his tank is empty. Samething goes for Urlacher, grateful for his work, but he needs to retire. The only thing Urlacher has left on the field is his leadership.

Not just Hester, many players are upset by the firing, Think I heard Briggs and Urlacher aren't happy.

I think most of the players that are not happy are the ones that just lost a ton of job security. Which is not suprising.

One guy that seems indifferent, if not happy was Cutler who said something along the lines that sometimes change is a good thing.

Most of the guys on the team came up through Lovie, so those players taking it hard wouldn't be a surprise...now if Hester is upset and acting like a Child, well then "Child Please" and take your money off of the Bears payroll and attempt to run laterally and drop TD passes for another team...

Maybe Hester understands he likely won't be able to convince a new coaching staff that he's an all-pro WR in practice alone. I don't know what it's been with this regime, but Hester, like Grossman and Rashied Davis before him, and Kellen Davis after him, have these guys slobbering over practice field all-stars. A contributing reason to the failure of this offense has been the fact they've tried to make Hester into something he's not year after year, eating up reps from other guys.

Butka, I agree, but I think it was fair to give Hester at least 3-4 years to learn how to be a WR since he really wasn't one in college. I do think he showed that he could be a 4th-6th wr though. He's not great but in some situations he could be good(not everydown though). I also undstood why they did it, b/c teams were already punting OoB's or squibbing to not let him have the ball, so to allow him to use that explosive speed why not try and get him the ball as a WR?

I think it speaks more to how poor Drake is that it took this long to try and develop him though. And he's not worth keeping on the rost for his cost.
