And Lovie can be his HC. It's a winning and proven combination. Someone wake up Lovie and tell him he has a job.

We already have pieces in place though that are so good, not even Lovie could fvck it up. We would still dominate!

Ah.. that's where you underestimate the man.
Plus.... I'm willing to take that chance.

Unfortunately, its been a track record of 7-9 or 9-7 seasons, where we HAVE talent, but are still "close" to being something better. Mediocrity will only take you so far, and this was it for Lovie. Sure, injuries played some part, but EVERYONE has to deal with injuries and good coaches can overcome them, either through solid drafts/FAs, and/or proper game planning. When you have musical chairs at OC and OL, that flat out tells you that your ship is rudderless.
100% on target Jimmors. When Phil Emery commented about the need to examine Lovie's "body of work" he took the right approach and used that fine tip pencil I was referring to. If we'd have returned to a SB and won it or at least effectively challenged for one again for a few years following the 2006 season Lovie may have escaped these last three years but we didn't.
We were a .500 team three years running and despite what the W/L columns says we've played like a .500 team over that period of time too. Lovie has gotten more grace than almost any other NFL coach would ever have gotten under those circumstances. He simply does not have the coaching skills to beat the best the NFL has to offer no matter who he has at QB, RB, WR or on his entire defense.
When you start 7-3 in one season and then start 7-1 the next and fail to reach the playoffs both time and that follows losing the NFCC Game on your home field the year before these two then that pencil line gets drawn very dark and very thick. Lovie simply hasn't proven he's the guy to turn the Bears into an annual contender so we needed to move on. Kudos to Phil Emery for taking the bull by the horns and making what must have been a tough and unpopular decision.

Not really a fair confrontation. Anyone can choke a sleeping man...

Yeah if you could fuse the Packers offense with the Bears defense we'd have a dynasty in the works. Go the other way around and what you'd get is the KC Chiefs.
