[B]I thought he was a great coach, probably one of the best coaches I have ever been around.
"I don't even know if I want to play again, man. You know, that has been on my mind for two years now. It's not (as much fun anymore).
Hey Devin:
1. Yeah and now we are starting to want you to go too.
2. This would be the same coach that could not turn you into a WR and had a part in your not being the best return man in the league any more?
3. Let me think... Who has been your coach the last two years..... Oh yeah. You weren't having fun under the best coach ever? Maybe it hasn't been fun because you haven't been doing as well and you have not been as big a part of the game any more. If it wasn't fun for you the last two years, and it wasn't fun for the fans for the last tow years. Take your head out of your ass and maybe wait and see if this actually makes things better. Maybe connecting the dots may help. Borrow either Webbs or Tices crayons. Never mind. You have to have a set of your own.

He tighten up his lips and just say "we have to get better" and yet they didn't. In the final analysis only one man can stand for that and it's the HC. Lovie could never fix the worst of what needed fixing and Hester himself is a perfect example of just that.
Lovie , like alot of people , was content with being just good enough to keep sitting on the throne . The view is good and being the puppetmaster is fun .
And he was content with giving his side of the ball most of the attention and most of the toys . It was mind-boggling to watch glaring weaknesses be continuously ignored or treated with half measures .
It took way too long , but someone finally came along who wasn't mesmerized by his court jesters and magicians . Some of them were good enough to help him win some battles , but there were always too many exposed flanks to win the war .
Hopefully , we have a Commander -in - Chief now ... who will fix the long exposed flanks in the trenches ; and will hire the right generals to train em up and eventually win the war .
It's been a long time comin .

Lets be clear here fellas (Players), you are here and making millions of dollars because we give you the audience you need to collect your fat checks. If we walk, then no more checks. SO go ahead and diss us with your prima-donna attitudes and see where the league goes. Personally, I've about had it with contributing to your callused disregard for those that provide your Golden Fleece. I'll still watch, but I have been curtailing my merchandise for a couple years now and I will not pay to come see you.
Like I've said in other threads, one man will not make a difference, but if I'm feeling this way (a football fan my whole life), then I'm sure there are tens of thousands that are beginning
to feel the same way.
The Greatest form of revenge is MASSIVE success.

Devin has about everything you would want. I don't know why he would risk his rep, legacy, and salary by calling out the fans who buy his jerseys, go to the games, and extol all the great things he did do. Break the return record and retire a Bear your a legend in the city, whine and your just a very bad T.O. clone w/o the receiving skills.

I chalk all this up to the players being hyper-emotional after the whiplash of winning yesterday, then learning they missed the playoffs, then learning their coach that they loved, had been fired after a 10 win season. Clearly the players like Lovie and are loyal to him. I can't fault them for that.
I'm pretty critical of Hester's WR play, but I can't hate on him for being emotional here (he's always been a very emotional guy). I'm a pretty emotional guy myself. I might have done the same type thing in his shoes. I give him a break on this one.
p.s. I started to type "I give him a 'pass' on this one....but thought better of it. He doesn't do too well with 'passes'

Totally agree. Just like I give all of us fans a "pass" for what we have posted and will post for the next few days. We're all upset about this season, some sad, some really really angry. In the end it'll all be OK our Bears will be great again, hopefully soon.
Happy New Year all hope 2013 blesses you and yours.

Happy New Year to everyone. I'm already excited about our 2013 season. Heck, it should be an exciting off-season for a change.
