I was thinking the very same thing. Lovie will land somewhere, and it is possible Hester will follow him. There goes a roster spot for whatever team he goes to.

Peppers, Briggs, Tillman.... add them to players that will request a trade. All I have heard they are also upset about Lovie's departure. You could also see Urlacher signing with his new team. Which he will get as he is already being targeted by four teams.

While some of Hester's comments reflect an immature mindset....reacting to an NFL player's sentiment that passionately is even more immature. Who cares what Devin Hester thinks?

This is just a knee-jerk reaction.
If we bring in a coaching staff that can put SB rings on their fingers, they will sing a different tune. Players loved Lovie, but don't kid yourself, they want to get that Super Bowl win before their careers are over. Emery will bring in a stellar coach. The players will quickly move on.
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

Yeah I'm sure that it was a tough shock for the guys but with time I'm sure they come to their sense and work at one final run (aging defense that is)

Players like Hester are screwed because they know the easy ride is over for them. No more Lovie's Country Club and "that's okay son, it'll be better next time". Now they have to put up or shut up. Hester is unable to put up, or unwilling to, so I do expect him to quit. Or at least not make the squad next year based on performance. Frankly, it is clear from Hester's statement that he wasn't bringing it. I think a good part of the team was in that same boat, taking the easy ride because they were members of Lovie's Club. Well now they'll have to put the effort out there, and the team will be better for it. Peppers, Briggs and Tillman bring it, every game. They're not on the easy ride bandwagon, and once the emotion wears off, they'll be back, working as hard as ever.
I wonder about Urlacher though. He is old, and still injured. I don't think he is going to fully recover from last year's knee injury, and he may not have enough in the tank for another season, especially if he needs to compete with younger guys that are healthy. I think he would go with Lovie to another team.

I guess all of us "false fans" are ironically clustered in Illinois, while every other state has "real fans" according to Devin.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

Assuming Urlacher can get healthy and compete effectively (and get over being butt-hurt by Lovies dismissal), if he sees the right people come in and the possibility of getting a ring, I think he'll be back. People do have a way of biting off their own nose to spite their face, so who knows what he will do, but if he believes he has a shot at a ring I think he'll stay.

Well, seeing that there is only one NFL team in Illinois, every other team can have their wish fulfilled.

Why would fans in any other state want us to fire Lovie? They know we would be perennially mediocre with him, and would not be worried about us stealing their playoff spot.
