F You Devin Hester...........
I Quote: Hester, 30, said he is going to return home and isn't interested in tracking a coaching search general manager Phil Emery already has launched.
"The media, the false fans, you all got what you all wanted," Hester said. "Majority of you all wanted him out. As players, we wanted him in. I guess the false fans outruled us. (you know Devin I've been a Bears fan for around ten years longer than you've even been on this planet and I don't appreciate being called a "false fan" just because I felt the team needed a change)
I thought he was a great coach, probably one of the best coaches I have ever been around. He brought me in. (yeah and how did you repay his faith in you as a WR you f'n jerk)
"I don't even know if I want to play again, man. You know, that has been on my mind for two years now. It's not (as much fun anymore). It ain't. So, I have my workers' comp papers in my pocket. See how I feel, go home and talk to my wife, my family. See where we go from there. I have two beautiful kids, man, young. Two boys. A lot of stress has been on my mind lately." (well if it's not being caused by how poorly you've been playing all year then it damn well should be)
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Heat of the moment jabber ... but the workman's comp part was pretty weird .
Guess the TRUTH is that status quo woulda been ok with him . And TRUE fans ( and players ) should want better . WE do want better . His HEART wasn't in it anymore as he said so himself - and it showed ... not not just in him . Seems to me there were alot of guys who were content just collecting paychecks . And that's BS .
It was time to clean house and I'm glad Emery saw it and did it .

It was Alf. You know how some teams develop a losing mentality? Well this one had developed a mediocre mentality. It's been annoying me for years that Lovie has always been so matter of fact after a key loss.
He tighten up his lips and just say "we have to get better" and yet they didn't. In the final analysis only one man can stand for that and it's the HC. Lovie could never fix the worst of what needed fixing and Hester himself is a perfect example of just that.

This would carry more weight if you made one of these for the other players who said fans were stupid (in other words of course). Where is the FU thread for Urlacher who said he didn't care about fans? Or for Briggs or Cutler who said fans don't know what they are talking about?
Just curious.

Benji do you actually ever read my posts instead of wasting your time making smart ass posts like this?
If you did you'd find the one where I said Urlacher could stick it up his ass for his comments about fans criticizing Lovie. You're on staff use your magic dials to go search for it. I posted "Urlacher can stick it up his ass" and that's a quote. Go look it up.
I guess I could have said Urlacher could go fuck himself too but a week ago I wasn't as pissed off as I am now. I'm tired of listening to players go through their "cry baby" routine while they're out there losing critical games.
You're the one who criticizes Cutler not me so why would I take Cutler to task. He was the sanest one of the bunch as far as reactions go. He said that change isn't all bad and I believe he's correct. A lot of us didn't want to see Lovie put himself in the position he did but it happened and the fans had zippo to do with that.
Briggs can say whatever he likes as far as I'm concerned. The man played his ass off this year and had one of his best seasons yet ironically this year he doesn't get a pro bowl nod. Voters are dimwits and so are some fans but I ain't so I can take offense to what Hester said.
You can do as you please.

So.... if you play your ass off, you can criticize the fans and that is fine? Okay. Good deal.
And yes, TODAY Cutler said sometimes change is good. But a few weeks ago Cutler did say something along the lines of "fans don't know what play was called so they have no idea who to blame".
And yes, I am a Mod. But with as many posts that are made a day, do you honestly think any of us can read them all?
But fair is fair. You did call out Urlacher. And yes, you can take offense to it. Just found it odd you didn't call out Briggs or Cutler for their seeming attack on the fans

I think we did have a thread being very critical of Urlacher, didn't we? But now Devin's actual name calling of "False Fans" is showing an epidemic that may have been spreading in the locker room. It's actually something I suspected and mentioned in the thread about Urlacher referenced above when I suggested such an attitude reflects poor leadership that may be compromising the teams desire. If that's the case, then Lovie is even more responsible than we thought for allowing such an us against them attitude regarding the fans that pay their salaries.

As far as Hester goes, I say go ahead and retire along with Urlacher. That kind of attitude for any Pro Team is detrimental to the cause of winning and giving it everything you have. I have been a supporter of Devin's even as his abilities have appeared to be diminishing, however, if his diminished skills are the result of lost desire, then leave. Thats is needed cap space for some kid that really wants to play.
