He played much better in the second half partially due to the increased help he got via chips and the like. I do, however, recognize the step up in his play as the season went on. I think at this point, we are a much better team if he moves to RT and we sign a vet for LT.

Hmm..true, true. With all due respect, this was a pre-coffee post. Perhaps, I will give it the ole college boy try and shoot for better accuracy:

    I'm BACK, Jack... or something..

Thing about Webb is that this whole "he played better as the season progressed" thing has been said before. During his first season, he was a Udfa rook, looked like it too. He got better as the season went on. After the off season (lockout year iirc) his position was switched, and he looked terrible (gawdaweful), but he improved during the previous season. This year with a full off season program, he was terrible again during the early part of the season, but late in the season he has improved....

Am I the only one seeing the pattern here? My opinion has shifted to the belief that he is one of those players that, for whatever reason, doesn't retain what he learns during the regular season. This means that every year the Bears have to retrain the same things back into him.

Maybe with better/more intense off season training he might be able to become "okay" as a LT. I however, am done making excuses for him...

At the end of the season like this, I honestly don't care. LT is going to be addressed. Webb ends up wherever he ends up. A swing tackle here or he goes somewhere else.

I have gone back on my opinion that Tice is a good OL coach. We need guys that can develop players.
