I would want no part of Ditka at this point in his life. I wouldn't really say "inherited." There were only 16 players on the 1981 roster who were also on the 1985 one - 12 if you exclude holdouts Harris and Bell, along with Jeff Fisher and me (Baschnagel). That leaves about 40 guys that arrived under Ditka's watch, including the prodigious '83 draft. Though, he could've done better with what he had, I also cite the NFC monsters that existed in those days. I would've hated to peak while the 'Skins, 49ers, and Giants were bloodthirsty.Quote:

Ditka is one of my all-time favorites, and loved him as our coach. (You're coach, specifically :lol-027:). I still blame Charles Martin slamming McMahon into the turf at hurting our chances for gettting 2nd or 3rd SB. He was never the same after that injury.Quote:
