i agree with whoever said guys who are 6'7 usually dont do well at guard.. his position is probably RT..
also, i dont think mike wallace is coming here, he is going to demand a big big contract.. and if he was here, as the deep threat he would not be lining up in the slot he would be on the outside
Agree completely, Grizz, on Carimi. Its a year too early to think about moving on from him at RT just because he struggled in his (in effect) rookie year coming off injury/surgery without a full offseason of recovery/OTA time. If he isn't a whole lot better a year from now, then that's something very different to consider, but not right now.Quote:

We can get a stud interior OL--hello, Barrett Jones, OC for the next decade--in the late 1st, a SLB/MLB prospect in round 2, and a speedy slot WR guy in round 4-5. And that assumes no trades or trade-downs to net another mid-round pick. Frankly, I'd dangle Hester +/- a late round pick and see if someone will offer us a 4th or so. If we get a bite, that frees some additional cap space and could allow a QB or OG prospect to also enter the draft mix. That's how I see it, very preliminary as it is now.

1. Grade out our existing OL roster.
2. Upgrade the OL personnel as needed.
3. Pick our starting lineup early in TC.
4. Leave the men alone so they can reach their full potential as a unit - with each guy at a single position.
I am not disagreeing with you, but too many times in the NFL you hear this guy is too tall, too short, too small, too big and then they go out and show us all we were wrong.Remember Robert Gallery he was a RT, LT and a bust at both, played his best at gurad he was also 6'7"

I've heard that Jermichael Finley might get cut by the Packers because of his being inconsistent at best, plus his propensity for injury. I've heard that on during broadcasts, during NFL Live and on NFL Network. There is a chance the Packers may cut him loose. The question is whether the Bears should pick him up if they do keeping in mind all those things I mentioned.Quote:

I'd like to believe we get a LT and TE in FA. Drafting a few OG's and throw in a TE somewhere should go a long way to reviving the line. If we didn't have a pressing need to get LB's it would be a top end offensive draft. I still believe if we get a LT and TE in FA we could trade down, get 2 OG and a LB in the upper half of the draft. We need talent, youth, and bodies probably in that order.
I'm excited to see what a full scouting dept. and a HC with an offensive mind can do.
Biggest goal of FA will be a LT if we can land one, we will be in a great position to draft a center or gaurd (Barret jones please) and have a real workable and effective line
If we miss on a Lt in FA chances are Webb is the guy again this year as a starting LT is quite hard to find outside of top 8 or so
