Are any serious philosophical or personnel moves that are required to maintain/regain an elite defense?
How would you approach getting the most of players that have great skill sets, yet little production such as Devin Hester and E Rod?
How would you conduct practices to best try to prevent injury, yet still ensure a healthy and ready team each year?
Do you think you can make this offense work more efficiently with the position players in place? If not, how many additions would you want to make?
Given that our offensive line needed help from the tight ends so much last year, if we do not have significant improvements, will we need to pass primarily on plays using extra blockers, or could you devise a scheme to effectively pass or run from any formation?

I would pointedly ask him how much he was responsible for the development of Rogers and see 1) how he reacted to it and 2) how he answered it. Try and figure out if he can be a positive influence on Cutler or was he mostly there for the ride on the coattails of a great QB?
I'd also like to know his philosophy on Rogers being the top sacked QB (or close to it) ie -- have they tried to beef up their line or do they consider it just a part of the price for dropping back to pass so often?
ALso, taking Rogers out of the picture, why does he consider the GB offense a strong offense? I am sure he would not say thet Rogers is their whole offense and it would be interesting to hear some of the other things that they consider part of a complete offense. Might be like speaking a foreign langauge to Bears management, but the insight would be interesting. I'm sure Emery has a pretty good handle on what we need, but interesting nonetheless....

I'm just saying, if screwing the pack over with this is a heavy motivation, then i am a bit concerned. He hasn't even finished his first year as a oc, and we're thinking HC material? That woould concern me more. Honestly, how comfortable would you be with a HC who a year before was starting his first year as a coordinator?

I'm sure that Emery does not take Clements to weaken the Packers. If he takes Clements it's because he wants him

Exactly, I'm not sure why he is so high on folks wish list. But, to each his own. Who knows, he may turn out to be a great HC, but I'd feel better with him as OC than HC right now.

and then there is the fact that Rodgers will take a sack more readily than cutler, instead of throwing into triple coverage.

i like the idea of bringing back marinelli, keeping the defensive scheme intact and then just rebuilding on the fly. we want clements to have input into the defense, but the defense was actually not the problem. if we retain the 4-3, then i think this would be the best course of action.
clements would then just have to worry about calling offensive plays, designing game plans and working with Cutler.

Game planning, adjusting, and quarterback development are his strong points, not play calling. He has very little experience calling plays, that I believe is limited to the 04-05 Bills. So, as an HC candidate, I'm more comfortable with someone who has shouldered OC duties on their own, without their HC (McCarthy). Kinda like Marinelli. How well will he do as DC without Lovie (assuming the new HC keeps him to run the D). To me he just hasn't had to stand "on his own" long enough at the OC level to be handed the reins to the whole team. If he is our new HC, I will gladly want him to succeed though.
