Personally, I think that any person with proven coaching experience that is NOT of a defensive background will most likely be the best fit. That however, covers several of the poll options. Voted NFL OC, but I would also consider someone with previous HC experience, if they haven't been out of football (think Andy Reid, though we wont be getting him) for a while. Would also consider a ST coach (although the bar might be a bit higher, depending on circumstance).

I went with NFL OC but like Shark put it best balanced in all phases. I just don't want Lovie in the opposite direction. Leadership, holding players accountable, no mysterious "doghouses", and know when to throw a damn challenge flag lol.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Regarding the background of a new Bears head coach, I have to remind myself that this is just one part of the equation. In fact the hiring of a new head coach is just 1 of the "unknowns" in the equation, as the Bears try to build a Super Bowl winning team. It will be critically important to have a solid OC, DC, STC, OL coach, QB coach, WR coach, DL coach, etc.

Some of these sub-coaches may be filled with our existing staff if the new coach thinks they're our best option going forward. And of course, they'd have to want to stay and coach here with Lovie gone.

So, while the new HC is critically important to the Chicago Bears as they move forward, I believe it is just as important that we have coordinators and sub-coaches who are rock solid too.

It's not a simple thing of hiring a new HC, and that's "it" for a winning program. It's a LOT more complicated than that.
