Holmgren would be a good coach. Ok before throwing the screen and smashing your computers into pieces just hear me out. Theres a saying that goes "no coach that wins a superbowl can win another somewhere else" well guess what Holmgren was the closet with first Green Bay and later Seattle. He rebuild Cleveland's Defense and got ranked pretty darn good. Hes a Offensive genius with QB's and other offensive players. Putting two teams in the superbowl is hard enough and ill praise him for that but i think we should take a hard look at him.

One concern I have with any of the "big name" candidates is that they will demand - and get - too much of the GM's power. I "get it" that any HC needs to have serious input into personnel decisions, but when a HC gets too much power in that direction, it is not good. If a team has a solid GM, who is exemplary at evaluating draft and FA talent, then he serves as a "reality check" for the coach IMHO.
Maybe I'm just too worried about this since we just survived the Jerry Angelo & Lovie Smith era of talent woes, where it was "the blind leading the blind" regarding this stuff.
Nothing wrong with a coach having a GREAT relationship with the GM, and having serious input into personnel acquisition decisions. But it needs to be input only. With this in mind, I have to believe that a guy like Holmgren would not come here unless he was given unlimited GM and HC powers - combined. Emery would just be a figurehead. Not good IMHO.

All the big names want too much power and Emery isn't going to give it to them.

I think Holmgren is over the power trip seeing how he just got booted from Cleveland as a GM when he should have been a coach instead. The guy knows Green Bay and how to attack, he makes teams better. Seattle was a laughing stock for some time until he showed up and made Alexander and Hasselback

That level of stupid explains the last few elections, pres and congress....

guys in red aren't even on my radar, Gruden is 14 games over .500 in 14 years w/1 sb appearance and 4 div titles, that is not a suggnificant improvement over Lovie, ecspecially w/the fact he's been out of coaching so long. Cower said no thanks to coaching, Ried is set to be the HC of KC. Kyle Shanny was so enamored w/Rex Grossman he told his daddy to bring him to Wash from Hou.

I do too. I think Arians might be my first choice though.
