Jay Cutler is just not a good QB. Stop hailing him as the savior. Too many excuses.
1. No one is hailing him as a savior of kind.
2. Look at sacks per pass attempt. That tells you a different story
3. Jay tries to avoid the sack (or there would be many many more) Rodger's just takes them

Basically, if the new guy can manage just to get the offense ready for TC, which he will, seeing as Marinelli will own the D, Cutler's mechanics will be fixed. We get more bad offensive philosophies, and no. That simple.

You can't judge an oline by sacks alone. You judge an oline by watching it - and the offense work. It's more of a holistic entity (an NFL offense). I haven't seen a single post hailing Cutler as the savior. Folks here are pretty realistic about the fact he has faults, and has to improve. But they also are savvy enough football fans to realize there are a lot of moving parts to an NFL offense, and a number or ours are broken.
It's not rocket science.

Cutler needs to improve.
He needs to work on his footwork and stop throwing the football from his backside foot.
He needs to work on his ability to read the defense and psyche them out with his super-hypnotic gaze, so that they don't realize the offense is running a play they first learned in pee wee, and thereby lose a step in covering the amazing physical specimens that comprise the receiving corps.
He needs to work on his ball-carrying skills, so that he holds the ball in the proper position, instead of throwing it to someone else all the time... if they're open... or can catch.
He needs to work on his demeanor, because we can't stand him frowning all the time. People pay big money in ticket prices, so they want to see him smile. Like... allthetime.
He needs to work on his attire. It's obvious his girlfriend is dressing him now. Wait... no one is upset with the what he's wearing?
...
Every quarterback could use correcting in some aspect of his game. Making it sound like that's what kept the offense from succeeding is a bit of a reach.
And Boomer could use some improvement in his broadcasting skills.
His forehead is too high.

Im hailing him as a savior because im an actual Bears fan who knows that until Cutler got here, "QB" and "Chicago Bears" were only used in the same sentence when "lack of" was tossed in first.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

The team may not be better in 2 years, talent wise, but Cutler will start making pro bowl stat levels.
