    New Bears Fan

Hey guys I'm sure a few of you have noticed me around here lately. Wanted to explain my situation real quick, not than any of you care

I live in Florida, and have been a Jaguars fan (stop laughing now! ) since I've been a kid. However, I have family in the north western part of Indiana, not to far from Chicago, so I have been to Chicago many times. Well, I am very loyal to my teams.. not a fairweather fan, I dont swap teams, I dont even switch teams based on players changing teams. However, one thing I will not ever stand for is if a team sells out to "fans" of certain players, and puts winning 2nd. The jags are a virtual certainty to add Tim Teblow this coming year.. which makes me sick... the dude is awful and I cant stand him. I suppose I could stomach if we add him as a backup or even a position change even though he is not talented enough to play any other position. I could handle that... but if he comes in as a starter, which is probably going to happen, then I will be done with the Jags as they officially would have put winning 2nd, as having teblow as a starting QB does not promote winning.

So, on to the bears. My last remaining grandparent just recently passed away, and he is a huge bears fan. I have always rooted for the bears, but not like with the jags.

So, I am switching loyalties pending this betrayal of by the Jags organization.

However, even if they avoid this monumental stupidity, It would remain Jags 1A and Bears 1B... plus they are both in seperate conferences.

I trust you will see I have really good knowleadge of the Bears and their players and everythign involving them. Plus I can give you guys the perspective of what a HORRIBLY ran organization looks like... which is why I previously said on here that it is a GOOD sign that the bears were not accepting of Lovie's mediocrity outside of his one good year.

I hope you guys can accept me as a fan, and not a traitor, as I feel betrayed by my team as a loyal fan.

PS... I already am rocking some solid bears gear lol... got a nice new tshirt... got a brand new Bears cornhole set, got my grandpas big ol' bears blanket that he kept at the house. Some of my family is trying to encourage the move by getting me these things lol.

So anyways... heres to DA BEARS getting to another superbowl!

welcome aboard burz. I understand your pain, if the Bears had brought Tebow in it would have been/would be hard to watch and root for.

lol thank guys... I'm not coming over to be a bandwagoner... if that was the case I would pick a team in the playoffs lol.. the bears have a place in my heart with my grandpa recently passing, plus I love the city of chicago from the few times i have been there. With them in the NFC, it will also be easy to be a big fan of them without getting in the way of the Jags (should I choose to still accept them pending their tebow scandal that is soon to come)

    bears/jags superbowl !!!!

Condolences for your loss, and welcome to DaBears. Best of luck with your 1A, but if the 1B/1A superbowl ever happens, be prepared....

If we took T-Blow, I think I'd have to jump ship as well. That would be tough to take, even after the bottom of the barrel stuff we had in the 90's.

Welcome Burz. I think you will find this a fun and insightful board with great members who actually KNOW FOOTBALL. We may not always agree but we respect each others opinions anyway.

Eh, youd only be a traitor if you were a Bears fan and decided to switch to being a Packers fan (or vice versa). But the Jags? Meh...most people forget that they even are an NFL team.

But welcome aboard!! Its an exciting time to be a Bears fan...alot is going to change in the next few months.
    I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

thanks man... Ya.. you guys dont know the half of it.. you should see what it is like to live in florida..i also graduated college from UNF in jacksonville, which is near gainesville... the majority of people in that area are so incredibly blinded by homerism that it is scary. I hate UF simply because of their fans. And with tebow its even worse. The move to acquire him with the idea of "selling tickets" is stupid being that despite a 2-14 record, the jags finished 20th in average attendance this year, in fact, I believe they averaged more than the bears this year... we havent had a blackout in multiple years, but the media makes it out to be that we have the most blackouts and still have them when that is far from the truth... but I digress...

if that bounce passing home schooled bum comes to the jags... i will host a burning party of all my jags gear!

looking forward to the playoffs this coming year with DA BEARS, as its been a while for me as a fan :)

    lol true that!

trust me, its a good sign you guys fired lovie.. not that he wasnt a good coach, but you dont want an organization that refuses to make moves like jacksonville did by keeping dum rio for like 8 or 9 years... when it was clear the time was up years before.

they then did the same thing with our recently fired GM.. we fired shack harris multiple years ago, only to hire his understudy to the same position, in which case for 4 years he made our team EVEN WORSE... under shack we made the playoffs twice, under gene smith we got worse every damn year... he personally DESTROYED our team... i got banned from the jaguars message board for calling out how horrible our GM was and our organization lol... the homers on that board couldnt take it.. My ban should be up soon though, so they will all be reminded that I was right and they were wrong ;) lolol

Anyways, I like our new GM here with the bears, We have all the critical pieces in place (QB, RB, WR, and a defense) we just need a good OL... I think cutler will be fine if we get a good solid OL in here.

hopefully our aging defensive players can hold up for a few more years... I like that we have drafted a few young DE's recently in shea and wooton who should be able to take over when the time is needed. LB is up next for young developing guys.
