It's way too much money for the production - not terrible but not 16mil's worth either . I wouldn't want to release him , but w/o a restructure , and coupled w the fact that Emery wants to retool around the O ( which benefits any QB , + not necessarily Cutler ) I see the money focus being changed over to the o-line .
Don't know what's gonna happen but him being released wouldn't surprise me either .
I Love Lou " Dr. Slushmouth" Holtz .

Seems like a big part of what brought him here was the Bears' tradition and the chance to win a sb. No reason now that the offense is seemingly on the verge of getting a massive overhaul in many ways for the better.

Peppers will be here in 2013. The Bears will work out the money issue. Emery has too many holes to fill already, without having to worry about replacing a guy who just made the Pro Bowl as the starting DE.
I think there's a good chance Urlacher will be back for one more year too. Again, they'll have to work out a financial deal that works for the Bears. Brian isn't the guy he was last season (2011). But he got better as the season progressed. Heck, he was LEADING the team in tackles (70) when he hurt his hamstring. Again, Emery has enough holes to fill, without letting his leading tackler go too. Brian and the Bears will work together regarding the finances.
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

That has to be restructured somehow. But he's not getting cut to save 6mil like someone said. No way they bring him back in 2014 if he doesn't restructure though.

Pep's got 2 more good years left at least. I think if he's the leader I always hear about I can't see why he wouldn't come to terms and restructure.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

That's how I see it too. I'd sure like to see him retire a Bear.

$$$$ issues. Though I could see them extending it but lowering the amount the money thru the life of the deal.

thats a lot of money for one player. Trade would be OK for me. Think this coming season will be his last as a Bear
