I can't remember or keep track of who he's interviewed and when. I meant that Emery can't yet hire and get aboard someone who is still active in the playoffs. Dennison, McCoy, (and maybe Clements) are the only serious candidates I can think of who he might be waiting on.

My two favorite now after learning more of the guys we are looking at is Mccoy and Dennison
so most likely we will get someone else lol

Four more teams will get eliminated this weekend. Based on his desire to have someone on board by the 19th, if he does not annouce final interviews sometime next week, then he has had a guy targeted on one of those final four teams.
If not targeted to hire, at least targeted strong enough that he doesn't want to pull the trigger until that person is interviewed. He said as much during his presser -- he said that his desire was to have someone on board by the 19th, but that if a particular person was still in the playoffs, that might not happen.
We can start to get a feeling for who he wants based on whether he announces final interviews next week, and if not -- what 4 teams are still in it and who there is of interest on those teams.

Maybe its just because I'm used to mediocrity and incompetence being par for the course with the Bears, but I have really taken to Emery and trust him implicitly. he wasnt my first choice as GM but so far I have been hugely impressed and am very willing to admit I was probably wrong.
Meticulous and thorough, qualities that the best in his line of work need.... and if he is farming the candidates for ideas / strategies on the OL / Cutler then great. smart move from a smart guy.
In Emery we trust, the guy deserves our undivided loyalty just for the Marshall trade alone.
Go get 'em Phil, take your time and do it on your terms, we're behind you.
