Jerry can scout. He'll be at all the swimming pools looking for guys who can jump out of a pool. And who needs to scout, when you can trade down in the draft and grab lots and lots of safeties (can never draft too many of 'em, ya know).

With their own third-round pick, the Bears selected defensive tackle Jarron Gilbert from San Jose State. Gilbert was a relative unknown who became a draft sensation due to a YouTube video of him jumping out of a pool from a crouch. Too bad Gilbert’s pool-jumping skills never translated to the NFL; he was active for four games as a Bear and cut the following season. Iglesias was active for only one game as a Bear, and Chicago let the Minnesota Vikings sign him off their practice squad in 2010. Two third-round picks, four games active, nothing in return.

Angelo became a front runner for the NYJ GM job in the eyes of Rex Ryan when he heard that Angelo knew a great deal about "defeat"

Hopefully, JA can find where little Garrett Wolfe in nowadays, and get him back in the NFL. You can never have too many 3rd-round-draft-pick, midgets to run between the tackles. Rex Ryan will love 'em.

    Jerry joins the Rex Show

    Recognize these busts?
Don't feel bad if you don't; feel bad that they were high draft picks by Jerry Angelo.

Quick resign Chris Williams and trade him to the jets for a second round draft pick.

When you insist a GM has to keep Rex for even a single more year, these are the types of candidates you will have to work with. So you hire a mediocre GM because that is the only type that will take the job because of Rex. The next year he fires Rex. Now you are still stuck with a mediocre GM who can't pick a coach or decent players to save his life.

This is brilliant. Reminds me of the old days.....

So glad for George and Emery.

I hope so much the Jets hire JA. I can't wait to see his first draft and screwy FA moves. I just can't wait ;)

Jerry will keep Rex happy. I don't even want to KNOW what JA will have to do to get this job. The guy is obviously desperate if he's going "hat in hand" to apply for the Jets job.

Honestly, although the guy is known for his bad picks, over time he had gotten better, and can't be blamed for Williams, as he was interested in Clady, and Carimi was a universally lauded pick. Dude also shouldn't be blamed for Haynes (picked right before Polamalu), as he was drafted for a different style of defense than what Lovie coached. He got cute with some of his picks over time, but when you consider that almost every one of the major players on this team were brought here by him, you have to give some respect. I think he's had to have learned (something fans don't believe coaches or GM's are capable of, for some reason) from most of his mistakes by now.

My only problem is why the hell a 3-4 defense would be turned over to him, knowing he's a 4-3 guy. Granted, the Jets have bigger offensive problems than defense, but with a steady o-line, they aren't that far. I know everyone discounts him, but he has shown he can spot qb (grossman has found a way to start after leaving chicago, which shows he has the talent if not the mental fortitude to playing at this level. Orton has had some great moments, and generated interest in the league twice this past year) and RB (signed TJ after he was a bust in ari, drafted benson and Forte), even tho he's not a great wr scout. Doesn't matter, as Holmes is pretty good, and they could always sign a FA. Anyway, i have trouble understanding why they would tell Angelo the same thing they told Emery that the HC stays for another year, esp. When he's not a 3-4 guy..
