I figured it out -- Hester has been getting trainded by Tice. These are the same traits his OL has
1) OL doesn't continue to engage the defender (ok, sometimes they don't even start)
2) This one is a QB thing during the snap, isn't it?
3) OL doesn't come back to help the QB. Usually they just stand there and watch all those guys in different uniforms run by.
4) They don't turn into a QB defender after a sack. They just do it again. Practice does make perfect though...

I'm going to keep an open mind regarding our existing players, and see what a new coaching staff thinks of each of them. We could be surprised and find out some of these guys can be much more productive with better coaching. Hester could be one of these. He does possess a lot of natural ability. He wouldn't be the first WR that our old coaching staff failed to develop.
This is one reason why I'm hoping that the new HC can bring in stellar position coaches, along with stellar coordinators.
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.
