Today brings great news for the Bears on the draft front:
Alabama underclassman OT D.J. Fluker is going pro. This is a huge prospect who is clearly first round material. He might be gone by the time the Bears pick at 20 (one scout said he thought he would be a late first rounder; others say he'll go mid first), but if so his presence will push down other OTs on the board.
Said one front office man, "He is one of the biggest, most physically impressive kids I've ever seen." Every running back in the NFL should be lobbying for his team to take this guy. Fluker might be a right tackle only in the NFL, because he is better at run blocking than pass protecting.

That Alabama offensive line showed what a great oline can do to a great opponent. Total domination. OL guys moving dline guys around like rag dolls. Imposing their will on defenses, anytime they choose - doing anything on offense that they choose.
Men against boys.

The battle is won in the trenches. Having a great offensive line can make a bad quarterback average, an average quarterback good, and a good quarterback great.

That is because against ND it was Men vs Boys.

I would take the entire O-line on that team, and I bet Cutler and Forte are starters for next years ProBowl.
I would trade our o-line, all our receivers (except Alshon and BM), all our TEs and Brian Urlacher for that line.
Of course all that I would be willing to trade is useless, but hey...
I should be GM

I believe there are a number of reasons they are champions. But the #1 reason they are #1 is that GREAT oline. The Bears need one of those.

Not another RT. We have 3 candidates for the spot. Concentrate on o-line in this order: LT, C, LG, RG.

They are also oversized gorillas compared to what ND threw at them. Dont judge based on that game. Judge how they did against the rest of the SEC

I he wearing 2 knee braces in that photo? That being said, the more O-Linemen available come draft time the better.
"Professional Armchair Quarterback" and other oxymora.....

I agree with that. If we sign a FA LT (which we must), then we have Carimi, Webb, and Scott for RT with 2 of the 3 making it most likely. Our priorities need to be LT then LG/C. Way more critical than the right side as it looks now.
Btw, Fluker is generally considered to be the weakest of the "big 3" Alabama OLs between Warmack, Jones, and him...and he will still probably be a 1st round pick. That ought to say something.
