Regarding Cutler, if they think they don't like Cutler, then I'd suggest they make dead-certain they have a better QB locked up, before they move on from Cutler. I've seen too many Quinn-the-Eskimo and Chad Hutchinson types here. I could just see the Bears bumble this and end up worse than where we already are. I'm fine if they want to upgrade - but just make dead certain it IS an upgrade and not another piece of crap like we've had in the past.

No more Eskimo's please.

If neither can get you to a SB, what's it really matter; other then you have to pay Cutler A LOT more then most guys, ecspecially rookies. That's what they have to evaluate. Can Cutler develop into a guy that can help your team get to a SB(imo he can, if he wants to try and develop his game), but if the GM/Coaches decide he's not then you have to move on, same w/any other player.

Well. I'm just trying to absorb all I can about everyone. I honestly don't have a favorite here, which is a little unusual for me. Whoever Emery says is the best guy is going to be a MUCH better informed decision than I can make, so I'm just going to get behind whoever Emerey says is the best one.

It looks like Dennison really wants that HC spot and will do anything he can to impress Emery.

Which is good news. I really believe Dennison's the best of all these candidates. There are a lot of very good ones, but there aren't many as well rounded as him and it'd be hard to find a better fit for this offense especially.

People are praising him for his job in Indianapolis which was admirable, but that offense was built on Arians' ideology and was ultimately the reason why they lost to the Ravens.

If the Bears do go ahead and hire Arians, it'd be a huge step back from Lovie Smith.

Live in Steeler country most my life.....feel the same way as SteelersCanada. Ben made that offense work by playing "sandlot" ball when the play broke down and he gave Ben way too much input into the offense. Also hearing alot about the Cowher rumors....wouldn't want him either, he gave zero effort for Pittsburgh after he won the SB. Would like to see someone like him though like Schottenheimer, surprised his name has not come up.

It seems like with all of these candidates, The Bears seem to be enjoying the media attention. Don't know if that's a benefit or intended. If most of these candidates aren't being filtered early and often, I wonder if Emery may be pulling himself a little thin with the list of HC candidates so long, having a list of who isn't on it is more efficient. Also wondering how much Emery wants to run the show; got a feeling he's gonna want more say with the HC than Lovie allowed.

If you are collecting 'thought' I have one that might (just) qualify. I kind of hope Lovie doesn't get a HC or DC job, at least not on a defense that currently runs a 2-gap defense. If he does, he will change to a 1-gap and that will be another team in the hunt of the same sort of DL players the Bear's are (I cannot see a new Bear's HC changing to a 2-gap given all the 1-gap personnel).

Although the Browns looked at some good candidates, in the end, they decided that mediocrity was good enough and maintained the status quo.


Browns hire Rob Chudzinski as their head coach

Multiple sources are reporting that the Browns will officially introduce Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski as their head coach on Friday. Chudzinski interviewed for the job this week and must have impressed Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner quite a bit to jump over some candidates considered more likely to become head coaches this offseason.
Chudzinski has been the Panthers’ offensive coordinator for the last two years and spent two years running the Browns offense in 2007 and 2008. The Browns thought they had their quarterback in the first of those seasons as Derek Anderson led the team to 10 wins, but they crashed and burned the next year to help lead to Romeo Crennel’s departure from Cleveland. He’ll need to find that quarterback to avoid a similar fate this time around.
It’s an unexpected choice in terms of the magnitude of the name after Chip Kelly, Nick Saban and others were talked about for Haslam’s first hire. We’ll hear the Browns explain why Chudzinski’s their man on Friday.
