Marc Trestman
Darrell Bevel
Bruce Arians
Bring back Lovie Smith

God, I hope Johnson is wrong. This would be terrible news.
Please no, pretty please Phil Emery, don't bring some CFL coach in here to be our head coach. The last thing we need is a coach with only minimal coaching experience at the NFL level. Just because he's worked with a lot of QBs does NOT mean he's worth anything as an HC.

Eh, I have faith in the GM here, he's going to do his research and get the best guy in his eyes.
Rich Gannon pretty much credited Trestman with his 2002 MVP season. He was the runner-up for coach in Indy last year and remember everyone laughed at the Mike McCarthy hire as well.
I would just watch to see if the weekend interviews get cancelled as the Bears are making no comment to confirm or deny this report. I wouldn't imagine Emery could interview this many people and not do follow-ups or have finalists for the positions, and it sounds like Dennison and Arians are still to be brought in and can't imagine Emery not talking to him.
But stranger things have happened. I will say Trestman gives me a serious "Riddler" vibe![]()

Reports from Chicago cast doubt on Trestman having Bears job locked up
Posted by Josh Alper on January 11, 2013, 10:14 AM EST
Reuters Early Friday morning, Jimmy Johnson sent out a tweet suggesting current Montreal Alouettes coach and former Johnson assistant Marc Trestman would be the next coach of the Chicago Bears.
As Florio pointed out earlier, the Bears have declined comment about Johnson’s tweet. Beat writers covering the team aren’t being so shy about casting doubt on the report. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune and Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times both report that there are more interviews scheduled in Chicago and other national reporters have issued the same responses to the news that Trestman has gotten the job.
The Bears have interviews scheduled with Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Colts Bruce Arians in the next three days and there’s no word that those interviews have been scrapped. Beyond that, the Bears sent out word early in the process that they would have a second round of interviews with finalists before making their choice. The first round hasn’t wrapped up yet, which is further reason to believe things are still unsettled in Chicago.
None of that means Trestman won’t wind up being the Bears’ coach when all is said and done, but it does indicate that there hasn’t been any kind of decision made by the team at this point in the process.

John Clayton on Sportscenter this morning also made a claim that Trestman is the favorite to get the HC job with our beloved...
Wasn't Trestman a finalist for the Colts HC gig last off-season?

Trust Emery.
The Greatest form of revenge is MASSIVE success.

wouldn't really surprise me.
Whoever says that this is the wrong decision... how do you know it? We all know NOTHING about this and the decision making. We can't judge this now. What we can see and judge is how he does during the games and after. We see the success and what is wrong with the team.
