Works for me. Only four others left besides us. However, those guys seems like they are also being patient and we may end up going for the same people in the end. Hopefully one or two more pick their guys and they aren't the same finalists as Emery had in mind.
From Adam Schefter's twitter
Bears told their nearly dozen HC candidates they plan to bring two finalists to Halas Hall this week for second round of interviews.
If this is true, count out McCoy, Collins and maybe Arians.
Playoff teams with targeted OCs are likely not going to allow their important coaches to interview during the playoffs.
Lovie will be a DC once again..and that's what he should be doing. He should also realize that in the event that he did secure a HC gig, he would not have the luxury of outlasting 3-4 OC's and a GM again. Other teams know his ceiling now. He lost the greatest claim to a royal throne that he will ever know in the NFL.
I should get paid to write this great stuff...
Wow. Hope he's OK, he seems like a great guy.
Huh....
So much for that thorough search. He made it ound like the right guy was priority #1 and timeframe #2.
Looks like the reality is they may be reversed. He said there were going to be people that he was going to have to wait on because of playoffs and now he reverses course.
The best guys are in the playoffs. It makes sense to do what he said he was ggoing to do. I was totally behind that. This... well, not so much. Some of the better guys he has not even spoken to.
Ariens should probably have been on the "speak to" list.
A little dissappointed in this, but he usually explains his actions when he is done, so we'll see why he reversed course.
Benji:
He had interviewed with Emery? I didn't realize that.

What would you guys do if Emery announced that the next coach would be "Smitty Love," and you know who came to the podium wearing groucho marx glasses?
I am pretty sure he was interviewed yesterday, maybe day before
