He lost the greatest claim to a royal throne that he will ever know in the NFL.
I should get paid to write this great stuff...
You need Dilfer's agent

He's got a virus, Benj, not cancer or a chronic heart condition. We don't know if he's on Emery's "short list" or not, but this doesn't sound like a disqualifier to me if the reports are accurate. Geez, we have a QB with insulin dependent diabetes for crying out loud.

Unless I missed it. we are not sure what he has.
BTW, he is also a cancer survivor, so unless it has actually been revealed what he is in the hospital for, it could very well be a flare up

Assuming it is accurate, ESPN reported that he has a suspected viral flu/inner ear infection and was taken in due to dizziness, nausea, and likely dehydration. Also that he "was doing fine" and wanted to leave after being checked out but they kept him (probably for some IV hydration). He had been sick for several days. If there is something more serious than that, then obviously that's a major consideration but otherwise it's nothing more than a bad virus like we have all had in our lives.
I'm not saying he is "the guy" by any means but he has repeatedly been mentioned as a top-tier candidate so we should now know this week whether Emery truly wants him or not. McCoy, Clements, and Dennison are still alive in the playoffs so its probably one of them if nothing much happens this week out of HH.

Thank you. I missed that report from ESPN. Last I heard his wife had been flown in to visit him at the hospital.

The flu is really bad this year. My mom who is a sub in the elementry school has gotten the nasty version of it and trust me it isn't pretty. Assuming it is just this I don't think it will really hurt him.

Well look what he did with Big Ben and Luck.

Is what he did for Big Ben and Luck more impressive than what McCoy did with Leftwhich, Orton and Tebow?

luck's year wasn't that great. the work with ben was good, though. but i'm just not sold that he's a dynamic offensive mind.
personally, i like clements and carmichael. their offensive pedigrees are impressive.
