Yep I'd say that's spot on kegger. Toub is HC material and whoever comes in here is not gonna be leaving anytime soon so he has to get out from under. I kind of figured when the Bears allowed him to interview this would happen and it also confirms why the Bears put STeams coaches on their HC shopping list. Emery was thinking ahead. It's also why the Browns denied them an interview with Tabor. It wasn't a HC interview. I hate losing Toub but it was almost a foregone conclusion.
The Bates thing speaks of Trestman being Emery's guy either as HC or as OC for Arians or Bevell or Dennison if those round out the top four. I gotta think HC is more likely though. Jimmy Johnson has a huge ego and it's not like him to spring a story that may turn around and embarrass him in the long run. He may well have nailed it.
Trestman is the QB guru so if he's coaching there's no need for Bates and somehow I just can't see Trestman coming in as an OC unless he sees that as a shorter path back to becoming an NFL HC than he'll have staying put in Canada.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Does anybody know if ST assistant Kevin O'Dea is going to KC as well? Or is he staying with the Bears?

I assume he is staying as he is under contract. Though he might be given the boot as well.

Several of the "unnamed players" spoke out for O'Dea from the tweets I saw and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the job as ST coach. But there is talk of I think it's the Cowboys Camillis or whoever that was possibly sliding over. I love the speculation, it should all be wrapping up soon and then what will we do? Oh yeah mock drafts.
