I doubt Vollmer would be an option at LT. He would nail down RT and Carimi might then be at LT. Basically what I'm getting at here is, if Emery can't get us an LT in FA (through no fault of his own), we are pretty much stuck with Webb starting another year. He's improved but still not good. But he's going to be better to start than anyone we will be able to draft this year.

In this scenario, if I'm Phil Emery I'm asking myself "what can I do to bolster the other positions on the OL knowing Webb will still be there?"

My best guess is that he goes after Levitre in FA to nail down a solid LG, drafts Jones in 1 to take over C, and looks at drafting a developmental OT in rounds 2-4 to start grooming in case Webb fails to continue improving. He's coming into the last year of his rookie contract I believe.

The very same sequence of events may happen this year. Any team with a potential LT FA knows that if they let him get to FA, we will probably go after him if he is any good. It might be even harder to find one this year. We pick at 20, so if he fails this year at LT, it could be ugly. That is a real possibility.
Theres a unique set of circumstances that may really help us this year to get Albert. He is going to be pretty pricey and KC probably can't afford to FT him (their cap situation isn't good I hear). They also have the misfortune of having the #1 overall pick in a year where there is no star QB worth that pick. It's tough to trade down much with that pick--too expensive and why would any team want to trade up like that unless an Andrew Luck was there for the taking?

KC may have to "settle" on Joeckel whether they like it or not which pretty much guarantees they will let Albert walk.

It wouldn't surprise me if they go after a LT & Levitre in FA, & still draft a couple OL in the 1st four rds.

I'm no longer sold on Jermon after seeing his bottom five total pressures over the past four years. However, no one is going to have better insight on the guy, that's for sure, so I would trust that move.

All of us would have to be insane to think that Webb is a LT. I mean ... REALLY fucking insane.

As a Guard at RG ... I could see a future as a somtime starter but mainly as a backup.

We have been so fucked over thru the Angelo years that we dont have any idea what reallity is.

OFFENSIVE LINE ... is somthing that looks like its now going to be addressed.

What a fuckin goddamn novel fuckin concept !

Imagine Lovie and Angelo thinking of protecting the FRANCHISE.

You go thru the drive thru at McDonalds and order a milkshake ... and you realize after you drove away ...

you didnt get a motherfucking straw.

JCut was the milkshake ... the OL was the straw.

Webb will never be a gaurd, he may have a chance at rt tho if we get a LT to nail down the job

Keep in mind, it's time for Webb to put on his big boy pants if be ever wants a decent pay day. Tice and Lovie are gone, now either he improves or he will be replaced

Melton is a tad ont he skinny side and will not survive in the 4-3. In the cover2 he would which is a set of the 4-3 but in a true 4-3 i just think hes too small. Like i said we need a pair of fatass's like the williams wall
