I'm just hoping fans "keep it real" and not have unrealistic expectations of the new offense, at least not expecting perfection day-1 of the season. When Bears fans do that, they quickly get disillusioned and their mood swings too far the other way. They do that with both coaches and players. I'm hoping we're more patient in the beginning with the new offense, and not go off the deep end if the team struggles initially with the offense.
I really think we'll see a solid offense this year, but it may be a bumpy ride at first.

Still a lot of unknowns with Trestman, his staff and what the roster will look like before a fair assumption can be made. But there's some promising hope!
Been watching some 2002 Oakland Raiders highlights on youtube (this is when Trestman and Kromer worked together) ... seems like Trestman's system fits well with the size of WRs the team has in BMarsh and Jeffery (Oakland's Rice & Brown) and it appears a guy like Bennett with crossing routes will excel as well (Oakland's Porter). Not a lot of highlights show how he uses TEs in his scheme back then.
Also he used Garner on swing routes (and even lined in up in the slot at times) ... this fits will Forte's ability to catch. Something Tice's play call lacked a lot of as Emery noted back on 1/1.
A lot of spread formations gave way for running lanes for Gannon to take off on foot. Even some designed boot legs when inside the 10.
He did seem to get pass happy games. One game in particular (which let Rich Gannon set some NFL & Raider records) they put up 60+ pass attempts.

Depends if we can get an O-Line.

I'm more concerned with the defense. Our offense will take 2-3 years to hit it's stride. Will it be better next year? I sure hope so. But, I have absolute faith that in 3 years, our offense will be very good.
My concern is that we'll change defensive coordinators every year now. The allouettes changed their defensive coordinator 3 consecutive years now. Not a good sign. We need to hold on to Marinelli, and find Urlacher's replacement. I don't care what kind of schemes they decide to run, just don't go changing it every year. That's one of the reasons why our offense never got going under smith. I hope trestman doesn't make the same mistake.

I'd hope people don't expect miracles straight away. We've had a lot of change in a short time. We'll need time to adjust, players to gel with new staff etc. I'd see the start of the season being rough and then even out as it runs. Fingers crossed we get things together quickly and it goes our way. At the moment though its hard to call the game without all the pieces on the board.
